## In short

5PM sunset hour is a bakery café on the ground floor of the KCC Switzen commercial building in Yeongjong Haneul City, Incheon. On the drive back to Seoul from Inspire, the writer sat at a red outdoor table at 5PM sunset hour with a salt bread and iced americano set, an egg tart, and Sanghamokjang milk cream ice cream. The salt bread was crisp outside and soft inside with a proper butter pocket, the coffee beat expectations, and free parking in the building's lot made it an easy rest stop on a trip with a child.

5PM sunset hour, where we stopped on the way back to Seoul from our Inspire trip.

After trying it, I thought I'd go all the time if it were near my house haha. Especially on a nice day, sitting outside with coffee and bread felt so much better than eating inside. We grabbed an outdoor table too, and it kind of felt like we were having brunch on vacation — really nice.

## What's on the 5PM sunset hour menu, from salt bread to decaf

5PM sunset hour has quite a variety of drinks — coffee, lattes, cold brew, even hand drip — and decaf was available too. The bakery case had more variety than I expected: salt bread, financiers, canelés, butter rice cake, egg tarts, and more, though honestly the whole reason I came was basically the salt bread haha

We ordered the salt bread + iced americano set.

It was nice being able to get it as a set, and the coffee was better than expected too. It wasn't just a place with good bread — the coffee was good too, which made it even more satisfying.

## Fresh salt bread keeps coming out of the oven at 5PM sunset hour

There's a posted time for when the bread comes out, but it seemed like once the salt bread sells out, they just keep baking more in-store.

Trying it, the outside was crispy and the inside was fairly moist, and when you split it in half there's a proper butter pocket in there lol

That signature salty-savory taste of salt bread was great and went perfectly with the coffee. We also had the egg tart, which was tasty too. It's the kind of place where you go in for salt bread and end up ordering this and that lol

## Going with a baby? Order the Sanghamokjang milk cream ice cream

Something I quietly liked about 5PM sunset hour — the ice cream!

![Sanghamokjang milk cream ice cream](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm-14-1245r-900.webp)
*Sanghamokjang, no less — love that*

Since it's Sanghamokjang (상하목장) milk cream ice cream, I figured it'd be fine to get one for our kid too, so we bought one. It was nice that you could order ice cream on its own as well. Watching from outside, there were quite a few families with kids, and a lot of them were getting the salt bread ice cream. Especially cute was seeing kids walking around nearby each holding their own salt bread ice cream lol (our kid... is at the age where they'd spill it even from a cup...). On a nice day, it seemed like a good spot to come with a kid, get a coffee, and take a walk.

## The outdoor red tables at 5PM sunset hour

Inside 5PM sunset hour there aren't many tables — from what I saw, maybe about two.

![Indoor tables at 5PM sunset hour](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm-15-1oul1-900.webp)

![Interior seating and decor of the café](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm-16-1kbd7-900.webp)

![Outdoor red table seating](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm/yeongjongdo-cafe-salt-bread-set-5pm-17-6iuoe-900.webp)

Instead there are several tables outside, and personally, on a nice day the outdoor seats seemed way better. We sat outside too and had ice cream, salt bread, and coffee, and sitting at the red table made it feel like a trip somehow haha, like a relaxed brunch. There really were family groups coming and going the whole time, and quite a few people getting food to go too.

## Would 5PM sunset hour be a regular spot? Final verdict

I only visited while traveling, but if this place were near my house, I think I'd go pretty often for the salt bread and coffee.

Good salt bread, good coffee, Sanghamokjang ice cream the kid can eat. And above all, that vibe of sitting outside on a nice day!!!

*And on top of that — free parking in the building's lot, yes please!! ☺️*

A good spot to grab a tasty salt bread, drink some coffee, let the kid have ice cream, and just take a breather for a bit haha. If I'm ever looking for a café while traveling around Yeongjongdo with my kid, I think I'll stop by again :)
