## In short

Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch is a bakery café in the Jungang-dong commercial district of Ansan, Gyeonggi, between Gojan and Jungang stations. On a weekend visit, walnut cranberry bread (4,500 won), walnut cream cheese bread (5,300 won) and anbutter salt bread (4,200 won) came alongside snow-ice mango bingsu, whose milky shaved ice is topped with mango pieces and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. With a big bread lineup and roomy seating, Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch is an easy pick for bread and bingsu together in summer.

Another weekend, another café in Ansan — my self-declared café city, haha.

If you're looking for a bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan that takes its bread seriously and also has bingsu (shaved ice dessert) in summer, I recommend Flowerpot. It's a bakery café that also runs a season-limited bingsu menu, so it satisfies both bread lovers and bingsu lovers at once.

## Where is Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch, and where do you park?

Flowerpot, the bakery café in Gojan-dong, is actually in Jungang-dong, in the commercial district around the culture plaza between Gojan and Jungang stations. There are lots of restaurants and cafés nearby, so it's a spot I visit often.

The sign reads "Flowerpot" in big letters, with "Bakery & Cafe" written next to it.

I come to this area often for meals and always pass by the greenery on the side, thinking it looked pretty big — finally stopped by this time.

For reference, there's no dedicated parking for the building itself, so you'll need to park in a separate space — good to know beforehand.

## Seating and atmosphere: room to spare even on a weekend

The seating at Flowerpot Cafe is arranged widely along the floor-to-ceiling windows, and with the green plants and roll screens it's bright yet cozy.

There's plenty of seating, so even on a weekend I could sit comfortably.

## How big is the bread selection at Flowerpot Cafe?

Walking in, the bakery display case right in front is quite full. From baguettes to croissants, sweet red bean bread, and cheese-topped bread, the variety is so wide it's hard to pick just one.

Up close, there's nut-topped bread dusted heavily with powdered sugar, pastries piled with berry jam, and bread with vegetable and cheese filling — even just by looks, each seemed like it would have a different texture.

There are various scones too — fig scone, chocolate scone — plus egg tarts and hefty, good-looking cakes, several desserts to choose from.

There's decent bread for meals too, like sandwiches, and rolls that look good for gifting — a proper bakery café.

## Drinks menu and the three snow-ice bingsu flavors

Drinks range from americano, latte, café mocha, and cold brew on the coffee side, to choco latte, matcha latte, mulled wine (vin chaud), Earl Grey tea, and fresh fruit juice on the non-coffee side. There's also smoothies and warm handmade tea.

While deciding what to drink, I saw watermelon juice, perfect for the summer mood, and three snow-ice bingsu options listed — red bean, injeolmi (rice cake) red bean, and mango — and the happy dilemma of what to eat began.

## The three breads we picked and what they cost

After much thought, these three were my picks. The walnut cranberry bread has walnuts and cranberries studded all over the outside, and the other breads were satisfying in both price and looks too.

> Walnut cream cheese bread 5,300
> Anbutter salt bread 4,200

The walnut cream cheese bread had powdered sugar dusted generously on top, so it caught my eye first.

I love anbutter (sweet red bean paste with butter), and the red bean filling here was thick and generous, with a salt bread base, so I picked this too. Plates, forks, and knives were set out for easy eating in-store, which was convenient.

The walnut cranberry bread had something like granola on the outside, making it nuttier — perfect for someone like me who loves nuts.

## What the snow-ice mango bingsu is like

Good timing — the mango bingsu arrived too.

![Snow-ice mango bingsu topped with mango and ice cream](https://img.superchart.com/images/gojan-dong-mango-bingsu-bakery-cafe/gojan-dong-mango-bingsu-bakery-cafe-19-1vyaf-1200.webp)

A generous amount of mango on top of the snow-ice, then two scoops of ice cream, finished with syrup.

The ice was finely shaved like snow, with mango flesh piled generously on top, so it was satisfying just to look at. The ice was light and crumbly, like milk ice, with a plain, nutty feel.

With the two scoops of vanilla ice cream on top as well, scooping up mango and ice cream together gave a nicely refreshing, sweet-tart taste.

The mango was tangy with a bit of sourness and sweetness, which added to the bingsu's flavor.

## Verdict: bread and bingsu together at Flowerpot Cafe

Having bread and bingsu together made for a meal that was both filling and refreshingly cool at the same time. The walnut cream cheese bread has a sweet streusel coating on the outside, and that part alone was delicious.

Taking a big bite gives you nuttiness and sweet-tartness, with a rich, nutty cream cheese filling inside too — quite full-flavored. This was delicious. Good size, and the price was satisfying too.

For the anbutter, the salt bread is crisp outside and chewy inside, with a strong butter aroma, and the salt on top adds a salty note that brings out the nutty flavor even more.

With this many kinds of bread, and bingsu available in summer too, plus a spacious, comfortable space, Flowerpot is a Gojan-dong café I'd want to come back to.
