## In short

Cultured is a pasta and pastry-pizza restaurant on Seungcheon-ro in Ara-dong, Jeju City. I was looking for somewhere to eat lunch before heading to Jeju Airport and ended up at Cultured (컬쳐드), a pasta restaurant in Ara-dong, Jeju City. Even though I love pasta, I hadn't had a single plate of it during my two weeks traveling around Jeju, so I went hunting for a good pasta spot. Once I actually visited, Cultured turned out to be an incredibly good-value Western restaurant in Ara-dong.

## When to visit Cultured in Ara-dong, Jeju, and is there a wait?

I visited Cultured around 11:30am on a weekday, and the tables were about half full — thankfully, no wait. As lunchtime approached, more and more customers kept coming in.

### Finding Cultured and where to park

Cultured doesn't have its own parking lot, so I tried to park on the side streets, but every alley was packed with cars. So I parked in a nearby paid lot and paid ₩2,000 for parking.

### Inside Cultured: tables and the private room seating

Walking into Cultured, the space was bigger than I expected, and the kitchen was open so you could watch the food being made.

Besides regular tables, there was also a room-style space, which looked good for family meals or bigger group gatherings. High chairs and bibs were also on hand.

## What comes in Cultured's 38,500-won lunch special set?

The base composition of Cultured's lunch set is salad + pasta or rice + pizza + dessert, priced at ₩38,500. Extra charges applied depending on which menu items you chose. It looked like most tables were ordering the lunch set.

From the lunch set, we ordered the steak salad, seafood tomato linguine, and a gorgonzola and sweet potato pizza. For dessert, we picked apple juice and an iced Americano.

### The set dessert is a drink: how to order it

The dessert for the lunch special set is a drink, provided one per person. After ordering the lunch special set, when you go into the dessert menu, the drink price shows up as ₩0. Selecting your preferred drink there lets you order the drink included in the lunch special set. There were far more drink options than I expected.

We picked apple juice and an iced Americano.

## Cultured's steak salad: a mountain of greens and beef

When Cultured's steak salad arrived and I looked at the plate, I was a bit startled. The salad was piled up almost like a mountain on a large plate. I had been picturing the usual salad you get at a Western restaurant, but this much food could fill you up on its own.

There were especially large amounts of oyster mushrooms — it looked like almost an entire pack had been thrown in whole — and the steak was way more than what you'd expect for a salad topping. It wasn't just a simple salad of green leaves either. Tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic, and other vegetables were all mixed in. With the steak on top, this one plate alone felt like a full meal.

## How does the seafood tomato linguine taste?

Cultured's seafood tomato linguine also had a fair amount of seafood in it — clams, squid, and shrimp.

At this price, the shrimp weren't the small cocktail kind either — they were plump and big.

Basil sauce was also drizzled over the tomato sauce. The familiar flavor of the tomato sauce, with the basil aroma added on top, made the overall taste a bit fresher.

The pasta wasn't too strong in flavor — it leaned closer to a familiar, crowd-pleasing taste.

So rather than a flavor that would divide opinion, it was a style anyone could eat comfortably and enjoy.

## Half gorgonzola, half sweet potato pizza on pastry dough

For pizza, we ordered gorgonzola and sweet potato pizza as a half-and-half.

![Gorgonzola and sweet potato half-and-half pizza](https://img.superchart.com/images/cultured-jeju-ara-lunch-special-set/cultured-jeju-ara-lunch-special-set-19-1ywm1-550.webp)

One of the standout things about Cultured's pizza was the pastry dough. Unlike a regular pizza crust, this had visible layered folds, so the edges in particular baked up nice and crisp.

The salty gorgonzola cheese and the sweet flavor of the sweet potato went well together. Both were familiar flavors, easy to eat without any hesitation, and the pizza itself had a fun texture thanks to the crisp dough.

Personally, I also liked piling a bit of the steak salad on top of the pizza. Eating the meat, roasted vegetables, and mushrooms together with the pizza gave a wider range of flavors and textures than eating just one dish alone.

## Too much food for two, and Cultured boxes the leftovers

Honestly, what surprised us most was the sheer volume of Cultured's lunch special set. Normally when the two of us eat out, we usually manage to finish a salad, pizza, and pasta without leaving much behind. But at Cultured, it was different. The steak salad alone was already a lot, the pasta was loaded with seafood, and by the time the pizza arrived, we barely touched it.

It was quite a lot for two people to eat. It genuinely felt like enough for three, and looking around, I saw other two-person tables also boxing up leftovers to take home. We asked if we could get a box too, and the staff brought over a container so we could take the leftover pizza with us. At a place with such generous portions, it was nice not having to force yourself to finish everything — you could just box it up and go.

## Is Cultured a good lunch stop before the Jeju airport?

When I visited Cultured, there were plenty of customers who looked like Jeju locals in addition to tourists, and as lunchtime approached, the tables kept filling up — a clear sign this is a pasta spot loved by locals in Jeju City. Located in Ara-dong, it's a convenient spot to grab a filling lunch in Jeju City before heading to the airport, and above all, the value for money was excellent, which made the whole visit satisfying.

The staff were also kind, and the pace of food coming out and the service felt easy and relaxed. If you're in Ara-dong, Jeju City, and want to enjoy a variety of Western dishes together in generous portions at a reasonable price, Cultured's lunch special set is well worth trying.
