Looking for a good gukbap (Korean soup with rice) spot in Bangi-dong? This time I went to Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch, which is apparently famous for its sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup). I heard the mixed pork platter was also great, so I ordered that too! I was hungry and in the mood for a drink, so I wanted to fill up on something warm and soupy.

Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch is on the 1st floor at 101 Ogeum-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul. It's 476m from Exit 10 of Jamsil Station, so it's walkable too.

Groups can be accommodated and there are baby chairs, so it looked like a good spot for families too.

## What's in the ₩34,000 mixed boiled pork platter? Three cuts in warm broth

The mixed pork platter came out, and at first I thought it was just plain boiled pork slices. But looking closer, there was actually a bit of broth pooled in the dish.

Because there was broth, I could keep eating it warm the whole time, both as a dish on its own and as a side with drinks — I liked that.

Pork jowl, badger-style pork, and two kinds of head meat all came out together, and each cut had such a different texture that I kept going back and forth between them. Every kind was delicious, so it was fun to eat haha. The pork jowl in particular wasn't greasy at all thanks to the right amount of fat, and the badger-style pork's chewy texture stood out.

They apparently make their own kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and napa cabbage kimchi, and it was crunchy and spicy-sharp, going great with the meat. A place with good kimchi is the best!

Next time I want to try the pork jowl gukbap too. I've definitely added this to my list of favorite gukbap spots in Bangi-dong. The value for money wasn't bad either. I'd 100% come back.

There's also a separate drinking-food set menu meant to go with alcohol, so next time I'll try ordering a few more things from that.

## Tips for visiting Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch, and the verdict

Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch has a big dining room with lots of tables, so I wasn't too worried about finding a seat even late at night. The staff were friendly too, making for a comfortable atmosphere throughout the meal. Being open 24 hours, it also looks like a great spot for late-night snacks or hangover food.

What I was most satisfied with was being able to enjoy the mixed pork platter warm all the way to the end thanks to that shallow broth. If you're looking for gukbap or a filling late-night meal in Bangi-dong, I recommend Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch!
