## Where is Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun? KT Tower basement at Exit 2

Today I'm sharing an honest review of Elephant Sushi, a sushi spot near Gwanghwamun.

I had a Gwanghwamun date with my mom after a long while and we stopped by Elephant Sushi, a sushi spot known around Gwanghwamun~ 🐘🍣

It's located in the basement of KT Tower, connected to Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station, so it was really easy to get to. The vibe of the place was so nice I thought it'd make a great Gwanghwamun date spot too.

### Is there a wait at 7:30pm on a Saturday?

There are three types of seats here: bar, 2-seat, and 3–4 seat tables. When we arrived around 7:30pm on a Saturday, there were plenty of seats available, so we could sit wherever we liked.

## What the 28,000-won Elephant B set includes: 12 pieces and noodles

Once seated, you order through the tablet at each table. I ordered two Elephant B sets. The Elephant B set is ₩28,000 and comes with a total of 12 pieces plus noodles (swordfish, toro, Spanish mackerel, engawa, flounder, hamachi, monkfish liver, and more).

And thanks to the Naver review event, they gave us a potato croquette or a glass of sake! I went with the potato croquette review event 😊

The basic side dishes are cabbage salad and clear broth soup. That cabbage sauce was really savory and delicious! 🥗

Before the sushi came out, they also pre-portioned soy sauce and pickled radish for us~

## The Naver review-event potato croquette at Elephant Sushi

First up was the potato croquette I got from the review event.

This is SO~~~~~ good, everyone. Best croquette of my life.

Inside was fluffy potato, and the outside was crispy while the inside stayed soft — genuinely delicious. Whoever fries here does such a good job that I thought I should try a standalone fried dish next time.

And then the rest of the Elephant B set arrived 😎

With the noodles included, it really felt like a full spread.

Last summer they served cold soba, but since it's autumn now, they gave us warm noodles! It has a janchi guksu (wedding noodle) kind of feel. (Though the broth itself has a Japanese flavor)

### The 12 pieces in the Elephant Sushi B set, one by one

The Elephant Sushi B set has 12 pieces: Spanish mackerel, tuna, engawa, tuna belly, abalone, soy-marinated shrimp, flounder, hamachi, swordfish with cheese sauce, seared salmon, monkfish liver, and futomaki. 🐟🐡🍣🎣

Because it's served as nigiri on a wooden board, it somehow felt extra special.

I ate white-fleshed fish first, then red. I love white-fleshed sushi, so I was happy the B set had a lot of it!

### Shiso-topped hamachi and swordfish with cheese sauce

Then I ate this hamachi and my mouth was suddenly filled with such a fragrant aroma. When I asked, they told me it was topped with shiso, a Japanese herb. *Shiso: lighter and more refreshing than perilla leaf, with a subtle herbal aroma and a hint of spice. Personally, this flavor really stuck with me.

And the swordfish piled high with cheese sauce was also really delicious. Honestly, everything was good except the soy-marinated shrimp! (That one felt a bit too heavily marinated..!)

The fish overall was very fresh, and each bite felt savory. The futomaki in particular was huge, packed with salmon and fried shrimp inside — pop it all in one bite and really. savor. every. ingredient. 🥳🎉💜

## Why the extra-fizzy Sprite is worth ordering here

Something I notice every time I come here — this Sprite is genuinely so refreshing and delicious. I usually prefer Chilsung Cider and rarely order Sprite at restaurants since it's often gone flat, but

the Sprite here has serious carbonation, so I always order one. Finish the sushi and drink it, and it totally clears your stomach! If you're looking for a good sushi spot near Gwanghwamun, definitely give this place a visit 🩵

## After dinner: a stroll through Kyobo Book Centre in Gwanghwamun

After eating, we were so full that we stopped by Kyobo Book Centre for a stroll and found a super cute notebook. You've gotta feed your love of cute things regularly, right. (Happiness quota filled for today too!) 🐹🎀👛💕 boing🫧
