## In short

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a jokbal (pig's trotters) and bossam (boiled pork with wraps) restaurant on Myeongdong 3-gil, near Exit 5 of Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. With a bossam-loving friend, the writer ordered a bossam set in the 50,000-won range, which arrived as a full spread of wrapping vegetables, japchae noodles, gimbap and tofu kimchi, along with the kimchi kalguksu (kimchi noodle soup) that comes free with any jokbal or bossam order. The kimchi kalguksu suited the writer's taste even more than the bossam, and the portions turned out to be generous rather than small as first feared.

## Where to go in Myeongdong when you want jokbal or bossam

Hiiii everyone, how's it going? It's already Thursday. This week had a lot going on so it feels like it flew by, but I'm still keeping up my Myeongdong jokbal restaurant posts, hehe.

Today I'm reviewing Miss Jokbal, located in Myeongdong. I had errands in Myeongdong that day and it happened to be mealtime, so — Miss Jokbal it is!

## What comes with the Miss Jokbal bossam set, and what it costs

Here's the Miss Jokbal menu. At jokbal places I order jokbal like 90% of the time, but the friend I went with is a bossam lover lol, and she was clearly craving bossam that day too, so we ordered bossam this time.

Bossam: 41.0
I'm looking at the menu board right now and this wasn't the basic bossam item — it was more of a bossam set-type menu? I think it came out to over ₩50,000. But it's not on the Naver menu listing... T_T

The food didn't take too long to come out. Bossam sits in the middle, surrounded by wrapping vegetables, pickles, radish kimchi, cabbage kimchi, japchae noodles, salad, gimbap, muk (jelly), more salad, and tofu kimchi, all arranged around it.

Honestly the dish itself had me just as excited as the food lol. It was divided into sections so neatly that it looked super useful to have at home too? A smaller version of this plate — I'd actually want to buy one lol.

## Free kimchi kalguksu with every jokbal or bossam order

Just a note: at Miss Jokbal, ordering jokbal or bossam gets you a free kimchi kalguksu (kimchi noodle soup). I think that's such a nice touch. Boiled pork places always seem to bring out some kind of soup, though — probably so you eat even more, lol.

A group shot here~ Honestly the kimchi kalguksu was more my style than the bossam, the main dish, lol. It was better than I expected.

Most jokbal places serve seaweed soup, but this kimchi kalguksu paired really well with the bossam too. Once it's bubbling away, you just add the noodles and let them cook. Not sure if refills are available though.

## Is the 50,000-won bossam enough food for two?

At first I thought the bossam portion looked small for ₩50,000, but once we started eating, that was definitely not the case lolololol. It was a generous amount. Plus there was so much to pair with it around the edges, so eating never got boring.

![Full table spread of the bossam set, partly eaten](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongdong-bossam-set-kimchi-kalguksu/myeongdong-bossam-set-kimchi-kalguksu-15-18q1y-966.webp)

Mixing things up as I ate kept it interesting. Other than that, there weren't separate basic side dishes — instead, three types of dipping sauce came out.

![Three dipping sauces served with the bossam](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongdong-bossam-set-kimchi-kalguksu/myeongdong-bossam-set-kimchi-kalguksu-16-lkumf-966.webp)

![Salted shrimp and ssamjang among the dipping sauces](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongdong-bossam-set-kimchi-kalguksu/myeongdong-bossam-set-kimchi-kalguksu-17-q303u-966.webp)

The dipping sauces were a salted seafood type, ssamjang, and the last one had a bit of a spicy kick. Whether it's jokbal or bossam, I'm always a salted shrimp one-trick person lol, so I stuck with just that one lolol.

## Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch: location and atmosphere

For wrapping vegetables, we got lettuce and cabbage, nice. I'm someone who really really loves wrapping whatever I eat, so I wrapped it up properly and enjoyed every bite. Given the Myeongdong location, the staff were foreign nationals, but there was zero communication issue, and the person who served us — probably the owner — was very kind.

As for location, you know the big Olive Young in Myeongdong, right? Across from Myeongdong Cathedral, on the side with the theater. From there, head a little toward Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, and it's across from another Olive Young. Being in Myeongdong, there were a lot of foreign customers, and there are plenty of cafés nearby too, so it's a great spot to grab dessert after the meal. Nice.
