Every time I go to Seongsu, there's some new space or restaurant popping up, so it's always fun to explore hahaha. This time I was browsing clothes at Musinsa Mega Store Seongsu and ended up eating at the food court on the 4th floor. Among the many options, I picked Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch. I usually love gomtang (bone broth soup), so I was curious about a pork version, which is different from the usual beef gomtang. 🙂 Instead of the milky, rich pork bone soup style, this one comes with a clear broth, which made it so light and easy to eat!

## Where to eat after shopping at Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu

Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch is, as the name says, located in the food court on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store Seongsu. Not the Musinsa Standard building! Being able to eat in the same building without having to go find a separate restaurant after shopping in Seongsu was so convenient.

Given how Seongsu is, restaurants often have long waits on weekends, ugh. Being able to combine your shopping route with your meal in one spot is really satisfying. We visited around 2pm on a Saturday, and there were way more open seats on the 4th floor than I expected. When it first opened, I couldn't even get a seat to eat, so I guess it's calmed down a bit now.

When you say food court, it's easy to picture a somewhat plain atmosphere, but maybe because it's inside Musinsa Mega Store, the whole place felt clean and casual.

It doesn't feel like too much even for a simple solo meal when you're in Seongsu alone, and it's also a good stop when you're shopping and suddenly crave a hearty Korean meal, right? haha

Seongsu already has so many Western-style options like pasta, pizza, and cafés, so it was nice to find a place where you can have warm broth and rice.

What we ordered that day was the Clear Gomtang Set. As the name suggests, it's built around a clear-broth gomtang along with rice, put together to make a hearty, filling meal.

Ta-da — sitting at a window seat gave us a nice view, and the food looked so delicious too 😉 it came out as a really generous spread~~

When you think of a pork-based rice soup, you usually picture a milky, rich broth first, but Dwaeji Gomtang House feels completely different. The broth was quite clear and transparent, so the first impression was already clean-feeling hahaha.

Chili paste to eat with the meat. It wasn't very spicy, just pleasantly spicy in a nice way, and it was delicious.

Kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and dried radish strips. The kkakdugi didn't use much chili powder so it was really clean and refreshing. A bonus refreshing taste~! The dried radish strips also weren't spicy and had a savory flavor that was oddly addictive. A bonus crunchy texture too~!

You can dip the meat in the salted shrimp, but I mixed mine into the broth instead lol. They even gave us dessert after the meal — the orange was seriously sweet and delicious. 🍊🧡

## Is the clear pork broth at Dwaeji Gomtang House rich?

Rice sits at the very bottom, meat on top, and it's finished with tot (sea mustard) and green onion — that's the gomtang bowl.

Just because the broth looks clear and light doesn't mean the flavor is light too! When you take a spoonful, it starts off mild, but then a deep meaty aroma comes through afterward. There's just the right amount of pork fat floating on top, so it's subtly rich and honestly so delicious.

That said, it's not the kind of style where the fat weighs everything down heavily. It's more like the pork's savory flavor is well brought out. There's no harsh seasoning or strong MSG taste, so the broth is genuinely refreshing and delicious. It's an addictive flavor that keeps making you go back for more spoonfuls lol.

## Thin, tender pork with barley rice

The pork inside the broth is also a key point! It's sliced so thin you have to wonder how — it was so tender and soft, and incredibly delicious.

There's this much meat in there... is it really okay to get this much meat at this price, ugh. This meat, sliced as thin as paper, has such a great texture, a deep meaty aroma, and a clean taste. Absolutely no gamey smell! It's so, so, so delicious ㅠㅠ

The chili paste is just spicy and tangy enough, and salty, so it pairs really well with the clean-tasting meat.

The rice comes rolled up underneath the meat, and get this — it's barley rice..!!! Wow, the chewy, springy texture of the barley rice was great, and it was even more nutty and delicious.

When you're eating a rice soup, the kimchi has to be good, right?!? The kimchi was really delicious. It's a refreshing-style kkakdugi that doesn't use a lot of chili powder, so it was clean and light, pairing really well with the soup.

There was so much meat that no matter how much I ate, it just didn't seem to go down ㅠㅠ lol

If you're looking for Korean food or a soup dish in Seongsu, I'd totally recommend Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch. It's great for combining shopping and eating in one trip, and the atmosphere wasn't intimidating even for a solo meal. Above all, what stood out to me is that even though it uses pork, they made it into a clear, clean gomtang instead of the usual milky, heavy pork bone soup :) I'd especially recommend the Clear Gomtang Set I had to people who prefer clean, subtly savory flavors over intense ones! It was a comfortable, light meal in Seongsu that was easy to finish, more about a comforting bowl than flashy flavor.
