Hi everyone! It's S here ☺️ It's been a while since my last post — how's everyone doing?! I've been wanting to change up my hairstyle lately, so I finally went to Heeol Hair, a hair salon near Gangnam Station.

It was pouring rain that day, and honestly I have naturally wavy hair, so summer is always a disaster for me 🥹 Even a slight bump in humidity makes my hair frizzy, and if I just air-dry it, it puffs up all over. I use hair oil religiously but it never really tames the frizz ㅠㅠ

But I hadn't had any treatment done since my magic straightening about 10 months ago!! So I wanted to try a perm this time, but I was worried about one thing — would a perm even take on hair that had been magic-straightened? My hair is fairly long overall, and being naturally wavy, it was a bit frizzy from the roots. You can see how frizzy it is at a glance, right? ㅎㅠ Plus, since I'd had magic straightening 10 months earlier, the ends still had that old straightened hair left. I was relieved that they didn't just jump straight into the perm — they said they'd check my hair condition first and test whether the perm would take! Apparently long-hair S-curls can look quite different depending on how thick the waves are and where the curl sits — goddess waves, thick S-curls, or ripple perms all give a different vibe. I didn't want anything too tight or overly curly; I wanted a naturally falling S-curl. Basically I wanted 'not too obviously permed, but pretty even with hair down' haha

## Why straightened hair gets a perm test first at Heeol Hair

At Heeol Hair Gangnam Flagship Store, they didn't go straight into the treatment — they ran a perm test first, since there was a chance the perm might not take at all on my previously straightened hair.

Good news — the perm was possible! 🥹🤍 This was honestly the moment I felt the most relieved haha. If it hadn't worked I was going to do magic straightening instead, but luckily I could go ahead with the S-curl I wanted. If you're considering a perm after magic straightening, I'd recommend checking your current hair condition and consulting on feasibility first, rather than just diving in like I almost did!

## A light end trim, then the S-curl perm starts

Once we decided to go ahead with the perm, they first gave my whole head a light trim. Since I wanted to keep my hair long, it wasn't a dramatic cut — just a tidy-up of the ends.

Then we moved on to the natural S-curl I'd asked for. With long hair, curls that are too strong can end up looking heavy, so I asked for the curl to not be too intense, aiming for waves that fall naturally downward. I think putting an S-curl into long hair works so well because the length itself lets the curl stretch out naturally, completely changing the overall vibe haha

## How the long-hair S-curl perm turned out, and what happened to the frizz

And finally, it's finished! Just as I'd hoped, the S-curl came out natural without being too much, and I loved it. Compared to just letting my hair hang flat, the waves made my hair look so much fuller, and the whole vibe felt more feminine. Normally, letting my hair down just showed off the frizz from my wavy roots, but after the perm, that frizz was actually toned down, and with the natural waves in place, I was fine leaving my hair down 🥹

Most of all, what I wanted was hair that looked 'styled but not overly styled,' and this was exactly that — very satisfying. The natural wave that's unique to a long-hair S-curl works well with casual outfits, and I feel like it'll suit dressier looks just as well!

### What I liked most about the S-curl perm at Heeol Hair

Anyone else with naturally wavy hair will probably relate — in summer, the humidity just does whatever it wants with your hair haha. Even after straightening it carefully with an iron, it goes frizzy again the moment you step outside, and you end up worrying about your hair all day long. But this time, since the wave is already built in, even when it gets a little frizzy it blends in naturally, which I loved!

Also, tying up long hair with an S-curl in it looks so much prettier than tying it up plain! I think half-up styles or low ponytails will suit it well too, so I'm planning to try out different styles from now on haha.
