## An indoor attraction in Andeok, Jeju: Figure Museum Jeju

During our two-week stay in Jeju, the forecast said a typhoon was coming, so it was all clouds and rain. I quickly looked for an indoor place to take my child on a gloomy day and ended up visiting Figure Museum Jeju in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo.

- Admission: adults ₩14,000; middle and high school students ₩12,000; ages 24 months through elementary school (ages 2–11) ₩10,000; under 24 months free
- Booking ahead through Naver is a little cheaper.
- There is a dedicated parking lot.

The place is full of characters that look as if they might come alive—massive in scale and incredibly realistic.

## The Marvel zone my 7-year-old loved

This Marvel zone was especially popular with my child. At seven, anything strong looks cool... Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, and more were staged as meticulously as scenes from the actual films, so my child was busy trying to copy them all.

## A hands-on zone for masks and hero props

At most museums or exhibitions, you can only look, so you worry your child might touch something. But Figure Museum Jeju has hands-on zones throughout, making it extra special: you can actually wear character masks and try movie-protagonist props such as Thor’s hammer and Captain America’s shield.

Seeing my son put on a Marvel mask, strike poses as if he were the hero in a movie, and get so excited made me think we had really come to the right place. The photos came out super cool too. We took loads and loads of proof shots!

The Thanos glove was especially fascinating because you can wear it and move its fingers, so I had to try it too, haha. Some of the props were a little heavy for a seven-year-old to hold alone, though. Parents, join in!

## Character exhibits continuing to the second floor and annex

After spending quite a while in the Marvel zone, we headed up to the second floor and found Spider-Man hanging from the ceiling. The details tucked into every corner are amazing 👍🏻

I spotted Lotso, whom I used to love, and felt all nostalgic. There were also Be@rbrick displays featuring lots of different characters.

The second floor brings together animation and characters from around the world that anyone, young or old, would enjoy, including Star Wars, Disney, and One Piece.

A photo with the Minions while wearing a Minions mask. This character mask came from a review event, and you can choose from 10 kinds. Throughout our Jeju stay, my child would suddenly put it on and go “raaah!” to scare us, haha.

On the way out, there is also a souvenir shop that will make kids’ eyes light up, so parents, watch your wallets. There are gacha capsule machines on the way out of the main building too.

Figure Museum Jeju is packed with things to see across the first and second floors of the main building, plus the annex guarded by Spider-Man on the roof. The annex displays figures of Pokémon, The Lord of the Rings, Super Mario, Taekwon V, and more—classic characters and movie heroes that will probably bring back childhood memories for parents too.

Figure Museum Jeju was one of the best things to do in Jeju Island on a rainy, overly hot, or cold day. With so much to see and plenty of hands-on activities, both adults and children had a satisfying time. If you are planning a Jeju trip with a child, or suddenly need an indoor stop because the weather turns bad like I did, visit Figure Museum Jeju for lifelike characters and lots of photo opportunities!
