Forest Jeongbang is a two-story ocean-view café near Jeongbang Waterfall in Seogwipo, Jeju. We hadn't planned to go there specifically — we were passing by after seeing Jeongbang Waterfall and just stopped in to rest for a bit.

In Jeju, sometimes you head somewhere with a fixed destination, but sometimes your plans shift a little when you stumble on somewhere pretty. That's exactly what happened with Forest Jeongbang on this trip. We were passing near Jeongbang Waterfall and decided to stop at the café just for a quick break, but once we sat down, it clearly wasn't going to be a quick stop. True to a Jeju ocean-view café, the sea view was just too good.

## The view at Forest Jeongbang: sea and island behind palm trees

The first thing that caught my eye at Forest Jeongbang was the palm trees. Palm trees stand in front, and behind them you can see the sea, with an island visible in the distance. You've got to enjoy views like this when you're in Jeju. That combination felt so quintessentially Jeju. A wide-open ocean view is pretty on its own, but I honestly think a view like this — a bit of green in front and the sea beyond it — is just as charming, if not more.

Since the palm trees naturally frame your photos, even casual shots come out feeling very much like travel photos. The sea color was especially pretty that day and the weather was clear, so even while chatting inside the café, our eyes kept drifting to the window.

## Pokémon plush toys my kid liked more than the view

Forest Jeongbang, this Jeju ocean-view café, is also full of cute little friends that kids will love. Siu was actually more interested in these Pokémon friends than the view.

We ordered together with Siu — he insists on ordering by himself these days.

When you're with a kid, dessert alongside a drink feels like a must. When it's just my husband and me, we often just get coffee and leave, but with Siu it's a different story. This time too, he picked the dessert first — an ice cream croffle, he said.

There was also a wide variety of sandwiches, cookies, cakes, and madeleines, so Siu enjoyed just looking at them too. He seemed like he wanted to order one more dessert, so we quickly escaped upstairs to the second floor.

## Second-floor sea-view seats and the outdoor terrace

We took a seat on the second floor of Forest Jeongbang with a great view of the sea, and the backdrop was so good I kept taking photos. The shutter sound didn't stop until our drinks and desserts arrived. 🥹

The outdoor terrace space looked great too, but it was too hot to actually sit and eat out there. Enjoying it indoors with music playing, staying cool, was the real relaxation.

## Ice cream croffle and Jeju Aurora lemonade

Finally the buzzer went off to say our order was ready, and my husband quickly brought it over. The moment it arrived, the look of it was clearly something Siu would love.

The croffle, crisply grilled with two big scoops of ice cream on top, wasn't just good-looking — the taste got a thumbs up too. Cake is nice, but for a kid's dessert, something like this seems like the safest bet.

I'd wanted to try this drink just from the name alone during our Jeju trip, and once it was actually on the table, the color was so pretty. It was refreshing, cold, and tangy — a lemonade that went really well with looking out at the sea.

Seeing Jeongbang Waterfall and then enjoying a Jeju ocean-view café afterward feels like such a great combo. Instead of rushing off to find another tourist spot right after the waterfall, I'd recommend sitting down at the café for a bit.

Siu ate his croffle, we drank our coffee and lemonade, and we all took turns looking out at the sea. It sounds like nothing much, but moments like this are exactly what a trip needs.

What I loved about Forest Jeongbang this time wasn't that there was something wildly special about it — it was simply that we watched a good view, ate something tasty, and rested. That was it, and that was exactly what made it so good. We saw Jeongbang Waterfall, stopped by the café for an iced americano, Siu had his ice cream croffle, and we watched the sea while sipping Jeju Aurora lemonade.

When a Jeju trip has moments like this woven in, the schedule loosens up a little and the whole trip ends up feeling more relaxed. Rather than rushing tightly toward the next destination, it's fine to linger a little longer at a place you like.
