## In short

Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch is a black pork charcoal BBQ restaurant in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City. On the last night of a Jeju trip, the writer ordered a plate of nanchuk matdon (600g) and Pork Rice, loved the staff-grilled tabletop service over 300-degree charcoal and the scallion salad that got refilled, all inside a retro old-diner-style interior with individual charcoal braziers. A great last meal before flying out of Jeju.

On the last night of our Jeju trip, I searched for black pork restaurants near Jeju Airport and came across Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch, famous for being visited by Local Calling's Choiza. I deliberately went there wanting one last proper Jeju black pork meal before our flight!! 🐷🐷

## The entrance already screams nanchuk matdon specialist

![Exterior of the Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch building with nanchuk matdon banner](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-02-1yo16-m-966.webp)

![Entrance sign of Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-03-t01kp-966.webp)

Right from the building entrance, a huge banner declaring this the best place to enjoy nanchuk matdon (a native Jeju black pork breed) got my expectations way up.

![Broadcast filming notice posted at the store entrance](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-04-11f37-m-966.webp)

They make sure you know from the entrance that this is the store filmed by Local Calling's Choiza, so I figured this must be a genuinely well-known spot in Jeju City.

![Outdoor charcoal-burning setup next to the restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-05-1lz55-966.webp)

![Outdoor brazier setup burning charcoal](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-06-1pgp6-966.webp)

Next to the restaurant, there's a separate outdoor setup for burning charcoal, and seeing them heat it to 300 degrees made it clear this is a Jeju City BBQ spot serious about its charcoal fire.

The origin display board caught my eye as soon as we sat down! All the black pork was labeled as Jeju-raised, the regular pork (belly, neck) was also from Jeju, and the beef for yukhoe was noted as domestic Korean hanwoo 1++ grade, so it felt trustworthy to eat.

Seeing pre-trimmed meat neatly arranged plate by plate in the refrigerated case in front of the kitchen made it clear the turnover is fast and everything is kept fresh!

## Old-diner-style retro interior and seating

The inside of Pork80, this black pork restaurant near Jeju Airport, has a retro interior that feels like an old-school dabang (tea room)! Mint-colored walls hung with old movie posters and vintage knick-knacks made it fun to look around even though it's a charcoal BBQ place haha

Each table had its own individual charcoal brazier, and sliding metal partitions between tables meant you could eat comfortably without worrying about the next table. The metal basket stools instead of chairs matched the retro vibe well, and they were practical too, making it easy to stash your bags the moment you sat down.

A sign on the wall read 'For the tastiest first bite, we'll grill the first batch for you with care,' showing they take the initial grilling service seriously!

![Sign at the table explaining how to eat nanchuk matdon](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-09-oopbd-966.webp)

A sign at the table explained you should eat the meat in one bite without cutting it to properly enjoy the juiciness and chewy texture, and it laid out the step-by-step way to pair it with matcha salt, fresh wasabi, and meljorim (braised anchovies), so I tried following the order one by one.

## Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch menu and prices

According to the menu, nanchuk matdon is traditional Jeju charcoal-grilled black pork, described as a breed born from crossing native Jeju black pig with the Landrace breed. A plate (600g) is ₩72,000, the bone ribeye set (900g) is ₩109,000, and black gabrisal and hangjeongsal are ₩22,000 each for 160g.

They also sell Jeju baekdon (white pork) menu items — a raw ribs plate (600g) for ₩56,000, and seasoned ribs, raw pork belly, and raw pork neck at ₩19,000–23,000 for 300g, so there's a wide variety of cuts to choose from. Side dishes included hanwoo yukhoe (100g) at ₩15,000, bomb cheese egg soufflé at ₩5,000, and cilantro salad at ₩7,000, plus a good range of rice dishes like turban shell seafood hot pot, sundubu jjigae, and kimchi fried rice — great options to finish the meal.

What we ordered was the nanchuk matdon plate (600g) and Pork Rice!

## Basic side dishes, including refilled scallion salad

![Table spread of basic side dishes including corn salad and scallion salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-14-1gdv7-966.webp)

The basic banchan spread was generous — corn salad, scallion salad, pickled onions, perilla leaves with pickled peppers, and raw vegetable salad — and the scallion salad in particular was so good I kept asking for refills.

![Plate of seasoned raw crab served as a side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-15-13jy4-966.webp)

The seasoned raw crab was insane too. Look at how plump the meat is 🤤

## Nanchuk Matdon plate (600g), ₩72,000, staff-grilled

The thick pork belly cuts came out in generous chunks, set up in an abundant full plate.

A staff member grilled it golden brown right on the charcoal grill, and since the grilling service is only offered for nanchuk matdon, we got to just sit back and watch the whole time.

With the smoky char sinking in and the outside going crispy while the inside stayed juicy, my mouth was watering the whole time 🤤🤤

We piled the spicy-tangy scallion salad on top of the well-grilled meat — it cut through the richness while adding extra savoriness, a combo I kept reaching for!

![A grilled piece of meat topped with scallion salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-21-1d99a-966.webp)

Three sauces came out — matcha salt, ssamjang, and fresh wasabi — and as instructed, I dipped the first bite in just the matcha salt to taste the meat's natural flavor first, then added the wasabi, which really brought out the clean, mild flavor unique to nanchuk matdon.

The pairing with grilled scallions was great too, adding a salty, deep savoriness that gave a different kind of charm.

## Pork Rice, ₩5,000, mixed with meljorim

Meljorim was a dish of plump melchi (anchovies) braised down with peppers and tofu in a spicy-sweet sauce until thick,

![Bubbling hot meljorim served at the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-23-168fx-966.webp)

and it came out bubbling hot so it stayed warm the whole time, with a pretty fiery seasoning that kept making me want more rice.

![Vegetable bibimbap Pork Rice mixed with meljorim](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80/jeju-airport-black-pork-retro-charcoal-pork80-24-zwsyc-966.webp)

Pork Rice is a vegetable rice bowl meant to be mixed with meljorim! Scooping a bit of the meljorim sauce and bits into the rice and vegetables and mixing it up made a salty, spicy little specialty bibimbap.

## Overall thoughts — what was good and what wasn't

- ✅ What was good: Great accessibility near Jeju Airport and Dream Tower, retro interior with individual braziers, and the soft, clean flavor of nanchuk matdon grilled directly over charcoal by staff
- ❌ What wasn't: Being a popular menu item, there can be a wait in the evening, so reservations are recommended before visiting
- 🔄 Would I return: Yes!
