## In short

Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch is a grilled fish set-meal restaurant in Yongdam-dong, Jeju, about 5 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. The Big Son's set for two costs 36,000 won, and paying 2,000 won more to swap the yellow croaker for tilefish brings mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder and tilefish to the table, with cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) chosen as the stew and the owner's homemade yuzu sauce for dipping the fish. A good stop for a proper rice-and-stew meal as the last bite of a Jeju trip.

## Grilled fish near Jeju Airport: Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda in Yongdam-dong

The place we visited for our last meal in Jeju was a grilled fish set restaurant in Yongdam-dong, about 5 minutes by car from Jeju Airport: Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda (나는 지금 생선이 먹고 싶다, "I want to eat fish right now") Yongdam-dong branch. When you travel around Jeju there's just so much good food. Black pork, seafood, all these Jeju-only dishes you chase down — and at some point you actually start craving a clean, proper bowl of rice instead.

On this Jeju trip too, there was a day when instead of something bold and spicy, I just wanted a warm bowl of rice topped with a nicely grilled piece of fish. This place happened to be close to the airport, so it became our final feast of the trip. Even the name is kind of fun, haha. When I saw the sign I basically thought, that's it!! Today I really do want fish! — and walked right in.

### A brick building with a long sign: what the restaurant looks like

The first thing you notice arriving at the restaurant is the big sign painted on the brick building: "I want to eat fish right now." It's such a long name that once you see it, it's hard to forget, haha. The worn brick building paired with the vintage-feeling signboard gave it a different vibe from the sleek, tidy restaurants you usually see these days.

![Grilled fish restaurant signboard with a long name on a brick building](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-01-1p8d7-900.webp)

Below the sign, you can see the interior through the window, so you get a sense of the atmosphere even from outside. And here's a shot from the side — the restaurant turned out to be longer than I expected. The brick exterior with green window frames gave it a slightly old-school Jeju alleyway feel. Rather than the shiny newness of a recently built place, it had the comfort of an old neighborhood spot. Places like this are oddly endearing.

## Location, hours and parking in Yongdam-dong

Being close to the airport, it seemed like a convenient stop either as your first meal after landing in Jeju or your last meal before heading to the airport.

![Location info showing the Yongdam-dong store about 5 minutes from Jeju Airport](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-02-1sz7y-900.webp)

Above all, its proximity to Jeju Airport makes it a solid pick whether you're starting or wrapping up your Jeju trip. Distances to Jeju Airport as well as Jeju City Hall, Jeju Sports Complex, and Jeju Bus Terminal were also noted nearby.

Business hours are daily 09:30–21:00, with last order at 20:30.

### Where do you park?

If you're driving, parking is probably the first thing on your mind. According to the store's info, you can use the Top Mart public parking lot about 1 minute across the street, and parking there is free. If there's space directly in front of the restaurant, you can park there too.

## Inside the restaurant

Let's step inside. Once you open the door, the interior feels even more comfortable than the exterior suggested.

The tables are set up for easy, comfortable dining, and the overall feel is that of a Jeju-style rice restaurant centered around grilled fish, rice, stew, and banchan (side dishes) all served together.

Near the entrance, they pre-grill the fish directly on-site.

## The menu: Dad's, Mom's, Big Son's and Little Son's sets

And now, the most important part — the menu! Even the menu names at Naneun Jigeum are fun.

![Menu board listing the Dad's, Mom's, Big Son's, and Little Son's sets](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-10-1k68o-900.webp)

There's a Dad's set, Mom's set, Big Son's set, and Little Son's set, each seemingly representing a family member, plus a separate solo set for those dining alone. There's a good variety of grilled fish too, so you can pick according to taste.

- Dad's set for two, ₩30,000 — grilled fish (choice of 1) + braised fish (choice of 1) + stew (choice of 1). Looked like a good option if you want to try both grilled and braised fish at once.
- Mom's set for two, ₩26,000 — grilled fish (choice of 1) plus stir-fried pork and a stew (choice of 1). Good if you want both fish and a meat side dish.
- Big Son's set for two, ₩36,000 — a chance to try several kinds of grilled fish at once, including mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and yellow croaker.
- Little Son's set for two, ₩36,000 — braised cutlassfish with bracken fern served alongside a stew. If you're into cutlassfish braised with bracken, this one's worth a look.
- Solo set for one, ₩12,000 — grilled fish served with stew. A good option for solo travelers in Jeju, or anyone who wants a simple but filling meal.

![Menu board listing the solo set and other set meals](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-11-1nile-900.webp)

### À la carte fish and Gosam Bossam prices

There's also a wide range of à la carte options. Grilled fish prices: tilefish ₩20,000, cutlassfish ₩12,000, mackerel ₩12,000, flounder ₩10,000, yellow croaker ₩10,000. Braised dishes: braised cutlassfish ₩14,000, braised mackerel ₩13,000. Stews: cheonggukjang ₩9,000, soft tofu stew ₩9,000, kimchi jjigae ₩9,000. There were also side dishes like stir-fried pork ₩10,000, fish cutlet ₩12,000, and steamed or rolled egg at ₩5,000 each.

And the dish I especially noticed — Gosam Bossam. It's grilled mackerel paired with boiled pork belly, bossam kimchi, and wrap vegetables, listed at ₩45,000 for 3–4 people. If just grilled fish feels like too little and you want a hearty meat course too, this looked like a fun option.

![Menu board listing à la carte grilled fish and Gosam Bossam prices](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-12-rk995-900.webp)

After looking through the menu, I got the sense this isn't just a place for grilled fish alone — it's more of a proper Jeju rice restaurant where grilled fish, braised fish, stew, and banchan come together for a hearty meal. Next, let's go through the basic side dishes, the cheonggukjang, and the main grilled fish one by one.

## The basic table setting and the owner's homemade yuzu sauce

Not long after ordering, the basic side dishes to go with the grilled fish arrived first. What you see in the photo is radish kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, seasoned seaweed, a spicy side dish, and a few extras — simple but well-matched with rice.

![Table of basic banchan including radish kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-13-14gki-900.webp)

Grilled fish here has a clean, savory flavor, so having these crunchy, tangy side dishes to alternate with was great for resetting your palate.

![Basic side dish spread served with the grilled fish](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-14-1y1ul-900.webp)

The sauce that came out with the basic banchan also caught my eye. A small dish held two sauces side by side — one was soy sauce, and the other a bright, tangy one. I was curious what it was, and it turned out to be a yuzu sauce made by the owner. The fish is great plain, but dipping it lightly gives you a whole different flavor to enjoy depending on your taste.

## What we ordered: Big Son's set for two with the tilefish swap

After browsing the menu, we went with the Big Son's set for two at ₩36,000. Since it lets you try several kinds of grilled fish, it was perfect for us — we felt like eating only one type of fish would've been a waste, given we'd come all the way to Jeju. You can choose from three stews: cheonggukjang, soft tofu, or kimchi jjigae. We went with cheonggukjang.

The default set comes with mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and yellow croaker, but we swapped the croaker for tilefish. Upgrading to tilefish adds ₩2,000. The Big Son's set is built around several types of grilled fish plus stew and basic banchan, making it a good option for sharing between two people.

### Piping hot cheonggukjang

The stew that came with the Big Son's set! Ours came with cheonggukjang, served piping hot in an earthenware pot — perfect for a spoonful between bites of grilled fish and rice.

![Warm cheonggukjang served in an earthenware pot](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-15-6hvlj-900.webp)

A bite of grilled fish, a spoonful of rice, and a hot sip of cheonggukjang. That combination is honestly unbeatable on a Korean table, haha.

## Four grilled fish in the Big Son's set: mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder and tilefish

Now, finally, the star of the day — the generous plate of grilled fish in the Big Son's set. After ordering and a short wait, a full plate of grilled fish arrived. With mackerel, flounder, croaker, and cutlassfish all laid out together, the plate looked pretty impressive.

![Plate of four grilled fish from the Big Son's set](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-16-o5d9z-1200.webp)

The default set comes with mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and yellow croaker, but since we swapped the croaker for tilefish, our table had four types: mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and tilefish. All beautifully golden-grilled — the kind of visual that immediately makes you crave a bowl of rice, haha. Each fish had its own texture and flavor, which made picking through them one by one part of the fun.

![Four kinds of golden-grilled fish on a plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-17-1c0d0-900.webp)

First, the familiar mackerel. The skin looked crisp and golden, with moist flesh underneath. Mackerel has that distinct rich, savory flavor, so a piece on warm rice is a classic, comforting combination.

![Golden-grilled mackerel with crisp skin](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-18-1yiha-900.webp)

The tilefish had a clean flavor with a subtle umami and nuttiness that really came through when grilled. The outside was golden and the flesh flaked apart softly, pairing well with rice. Having all four fish together let us compare — mackerel's richness, cutlassfish's tender flesh, flounder's cleanness, and tilefish's crisp flavor — which made the meal genuinely fun.

And of course, Jeju wouldn't be Jeju without cutlassfish. Flaking it apart reveals soft, moist white flesh. The lightly salted, grilled cutlassfish paired with rice was clean and savory. Picking around the bones carefully to get at the flesh is part of the enjoyment too.

![Flaked grilled cutlassfish](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-19-1ozwg-900.webp)

Of the four, the flounder had the cleanest, mildest flavor. Grilled whole in its flat shape, the skin turned nicely golden while the flesh inside stayed clean and soft. It's not heavily seasoned, so it went really well dipped lightly in the yuzu sauce too.

![Small dish with soy sauce and yuzu sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-21-1v9h8-900.webp)

### Soy sauce or yuzu sauce: which suited the fish better?

We flaked off small pieces of fish and tried them dipped in soy sauce first, then tried the yuzu sauce. Even with the same fish, the flavor shifted depending on the sauce, and the yuzu sauce ended up being the one that stuck with us. Grilled fish with yuzu — I was curious what that combination would even taste like at first.

The sauce adds a subtle yuzu aroma and tang to the clean, savory flavor of the fish, making what could otherwise feel a bit heavy taste lighter and fresher. It has a different charm from plain soy sauce. Especially with a small piece of fish dipped lightly, the yuzu fragrance rises subtly and pairs really well with the fish's savory flavor.

> You really have to try this yuzu sauce here.

## The self-serve side dish corner

At Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda, there's radish kimchi that looks like kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), seasoned bean sprouts, seaweed dishes, and other side dishes all set up for you to help yourself to as much as you'd like.

![Self-serve banchan corner with radish kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-22-1s6f2-900.webp)

These kinds of clean, light side dishes pair so well with grilled fish. A bite of the slightly oily fish, then a crunchy side dish, then a spoonful of rice — that's the perfect rhythm.

![Side dishes taken from the self-serve corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce/jeju-yongdam-grilled-fish-yuzu-sauce-23-1b4vy-900.webp)

When you're eating grilled fish with rice, you tend to crave crunchy kimchi or a tangy side dish now and then. A self-serve corner where you can take as much as you want of whatever you're craving — I really like this kind of setup.

## Is it worth it as the last meal of a Jeju trip?

Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda, a grilled fish spot near Jeju Airport. Maybe because it was our final meal of the trip, this one stuck with me more than most. Thanks to it, we got to taste cutlassfish, mackerel, flounder, and tilefish all in one sitting, on one plate. What I liked most wasn't just the flavor of each fish, but being able to try so many varieties at once.

Jeju has no shortage of delicious food, but sometimes while traveling you start craving a proper, home-style meal — something warm and comforting. This was a good place to stop by for that, with grilled fish and a solid bowl of rice. And being close to Jeju Airport made it easy to fit in as a last meal before heading out.

If you're wrapping up a Jeju trip and thinking, "Let's eat grilled fish and rice before heading to the airport," Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda's Yongdam-dong branch is worth a stop. Among all the food we had in Jeju, this simple but filling meal stood out — and it was a great way to close out our Jeju trip on a good note.
