Jeju Healing Dwaeji was where we had the tastiest meal and made the happiest memories during our 6-night, 7-day Jeju trip. Since it's a place where you can grill black pork while looking out at the sea and the sunset, I wanted to jot down a review for anyone curious.

## Jeju Healing Dwaeji: outdoor table or indoor seat?

Personally, if the weather is good, I'd absolutely recommend the outdoor tables at Jeju Healing Dwaeji. Grilling meat in the Jeju breeze really makes you feel like you're on vacation. That day, in fact, there was only one table indoors — everyone else was eating outside?!

Even though we visited on a weekday, the reservation board showed a lot of tables already filled. I'd assumed it would be relatively quiet on a weekday, but seeing so many reserved tables made me realize just how popular Jeju Healing Dwaeji really is.

If you're visiting with kids or it's a very windy day, eating indoors is also a good option.

## Jeju Healing Dwaeji menu and prices: the Ocean Healing Pork Set

The centerpiece of the menu is, of course, Jeju black pork! Pork belly and neck, 900g total, plus one bottle of wine, comes to ₩110,000 — pretty good value. Maybe that's why the Ocean Healing Pork Set seemed to be the best-selling item.

Inside, there were instructions on how to enjoy Jeju Healing Dwaeji's black pork even more. Beyond simply dipping it in salt or ssamjang (soybean paste), they showed different combinations with the side accompaniments, and it was fun trying each one out. Haha.

### Which side dishes come with the black pork

The basic side dishes were a bit different from what you'd normally see at a Korean BBQ restaurant. There were jalapeños, olives, wasabi sauce, and more.

What our family ordered was 900g of black pork — pretty generous-looking right from the plating, isn't it? A heap of thick-cut black pork came out, looking incredibly appetizing.

Once the meat hit the grill, a sizzling sound and a savory aroma started to spread. Eating outdoors makes it even more atmospheric, don't you think? And that melitgeot sauce in the middle — it was so good I wanted to buy a separate jar to take home.

Because it's pork belly, the thick skin gives it an amazingly satisfying texture too. :)

## Wrap greens, wasabi sauce and grilled tangerines

This time, I put well-grilled black pork on a piece of fresh lettuce, added some pickled onion, and took a big bite. It completely cuts through the richness that builds up as you eat.

Following the recommended way to eat it printed on the table, I tried dipping the meat in the wasabi sauce. Since it was a sauce I'd never seen before, I was curious what it would taste like — turns out it wasn't spicy at all, just a bit sweet... I'd say it's basically the wasabi version of barbecue sauce. Haha.

What really surprised me was the grilled tangerines. Grilling them seems to intensify the sweetness, making them perfect to eat like a dessert.

After eating our fill, we didn't head straight home — instead we spent some time outside with the kids. Playing ball in the open space with the sunset in the background, we lost track of time and just had fun.
