## In short

Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch is a street-food stall on Eunhaeng-ro in Jeonju Hanok Village selling octopus skewers and fried octopus balls (mungangjeong). The writer stopped by with her mom, ordered mungangjeong and a Sanghamokjang ice cream cone, and ate them at the seats beside the shop, enjoying the chewy octopus and the generous ice cream portion. It's a solid snack combo for a quick rest while walking around the hanok village.

Munkkocchi Mungangjeong, a Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, is what my mom and I stumbled on while wandering the village! I really love the texture of octopus haha, so once mungangjeong (fried octopus balls) was right in front of my eyes, there was no way I could just walk past it~~ hehe

At first I was debating whether to get octopus skewers, but I figured mungangjeong would be easier to share with my mom, so this time we ordered mungangjeong :)

## Location and seating

It was a great spot to swing by casually when a snack craving hits while sightseeing in the hanok village. This Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, mungangjeong, also turned out to be a good bite-sized pick for when you're strolling and get a little hungry.

There were seats set up beside the shop, so it was nice to sit and rest a bit while eating what we ordered. We bought mungangjeong and ice cream and slowly ate them there together haha.

## Menu and prices

Beyond mungangjeong, there was quite a variety — octopus skewers, homemade sikhye, slushies, and ice cream too. Mungangjeong itself came in cheese, mild, and spicy versions, so you could pick according to your taste.

For anyone looking for this Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, mungangjeong, I think it's a nice touch that you can pick a flavor to match your preference.

## Mungangjeong: how was the octopus texture?

What we picked was mungangjeong! The round shape looked like takoyaki, so I was already excited before even taking a bite haha. Taking a bite, the octopus inside was packed in generously, and the chewy octopus texture with every bite was genuinely great.

The octopus was so generously packed in that it felt like the owner hadn't skimped on ingredients at all, and it was satisfying the whole way through ^^ It was also easy for my mom and me to just pick pieces up one by one, making it a perfect no-pressure snack while wandering the hanok village.

## Sanghamokjang ice cream: cone vs. cup

And the Sanghamokjang ice cream we ordered alongside it! I agonized between cup and cone but went with my usual favorite, the cone, haha.

The first thing I thought the moment I got it was — the amount of ice cream is huge~~!! They gave way more than I expected, which made me weirdly happy haha. The flavor was also really soft and creamy, and it paired perfectly with the cool ice cream after eating this Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, mungangjeong : ))

That said, since it was hot out, the cone melted faster than I expected ㅠㅠ If you want to eat slowly and comfortably, ordering it in a cup might be a good idea. But me... I'm still planning to get the cone again next time!! hehe

## Next time: octopus skewers!

At first I was torn between octopus skewers and mungangjeong, but after happily eating this Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, mungangjeong, I found myself getting more curious about the octopus skewers this time haha.

Still, the shop's name literally starts with 'Munkkocchi' (octopus skewer)... leaving without trying it felt a little disappointing. Next time I'm definitely going to order and try the octopus skewers haha.

## Overall review and would I go back

When you're walking around the hanok village looking at everything, a snack naturally comes to mind, right? For that moment, this Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, mungangjeong, was great to share with my mom!

![Mungangjeong and ice cream set out on the seats beside the shop](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonju-hanok-village-octopus-gangjeong-icecream/jeonju-hanok-village-octopus-gangjeong-icecream-10-9e6kg-900.webp)

![The mungangjeong and ice cream snack combo](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonju-hanok-village-octopus-gangjeong-icecream/jeonju-hanok-village-octopus-gangjeong-icecream-11-j6mtn-900.webp)

The octopus was packed in generously so the chewy texture was great, and eating it together with the soft, cool ice cream made for the perfect snack combo :) There are seats too, plus plenty of other menu items like homemade sikhye, slushies, and octopus skewers, so it's a good place to look for when you want somewhere to rest for a bit while sightseeing in the hanok village haha.

On my next visit I want to eat this Jeonju Hanok Village street snack, mungangjeong, again, and definitely order the octopus skewers I missed out on this time too haha. For when you feel like you want to squeeze in a bit more time simply before parting ways in the hanok village!!

For when you don't feel like going into a full restaurant but want street snacks, standing around to eat feels awkward, and you want to sit and spend some time too! When the kids want ice cream and slushies and the adults want octopus haha, I really recommend this place : ))
