## In short

Low & Sweet Bakery is a bakery café at the entrance of Haeri-dan-gil in Haeundae, Busan, open daily from 08:00 to 20:00 with most baked goods priced around 3,000–4,000 won. On a weekday afternoon visit, the signature croissant and best-selling egg tart went home as takeout, while the bakery's famous salt bread had already sold out. The croissant was buttery and crisp and the egg tart was only lightly sweet, so both worked well as a next-morning breakfast.

Today I'm introducing Low & Sweet Bakery café, located on Haeri-dan-gil in Haeundae, Busan. I heard the egg tarts were really good, so after a while I got a craving for sweet dessert and coffee and picked some up to go. It's right at the entrance to Haeri-dan-gil, and there's parking right in front, so it's easy to get to.

## What is Haeri-dan-gil like on a weekday afternoon?

Even though I visited on a weekday afternoon, the inside of Low & Sweet Bakery was really packed with people. Haeri-dan-gil cafés like this — small but with delicious bakery goods and coffee — are always bustling. Freshly baked bread, cookies, and coffee are available from 8am every morning, so you can enjoy it as a breakfast substitute.

With the vibe of a café on a European backstreet, guests of all ages had already settled into their seats early. Today was a takeout trip, but next time I'd love to sit and eat there.

It's still feeling warm out, so the outdoor seating on the other side was empty. Once it cools down a bit more, I imagine a lot more people will sit outside. Overall it had the feel of a quiet house café, and it seemed like a nice place to visit with friends, a partner, or family.

## What's on the bakery shelves, and how much does it cost?

## A closer look at the baked goods bought for takeout

So let's take a look at the baked goods to pack up. True to being an egg tart spot near Haeundae Station, the egg tarts are the first thing you see. Since they make a variety of cookies, breads, and pies in-house, everything looked so tempting and delicious. The egg tart and salt bread are said to be the most famous. Honestly, everything looked so good that I wanted to try one of each.

Here's the bakery price list. Most items are around ₩3,000–4,000, so it seemed like something you could easily pair with coffee.

## Croissant and egg tart to go — and the sold-out salt bread

I bought the signature croissant and the best-selling egg tart. The salt bread is supposedly really famous too, but it was already sold out :( Next time I'll come earlier and make sure to try the salt bread.

The croissant is pretty big too haha. I was planning to have it for brunch, and it looked like it'd be filling and delicious.

### Coffee menu: even the decaf is brewed from whole beans

Here's the coffee/drink menu with prices. I got an iced americano to go. Even the decaf is made from actual beans rather than cold brew, so it seemed great for people who can't have regular coffee.

I thought about eating outside for the aesthetic, but decided to eat at home instead. Snapped a photo before heading out! Even while I was packing up, customers kept coming in and out in twos and threes. It's really a hot café on Haeri-dan-gil these days.

## How did the croissant and egg tart taste back home?

When I got home and opened the packaging, the room filled with a nutty buttery smell! Since these are hand-baked rather than mass-produced bread, the aroma was different from the start. Whenever you get bread from a bakery that bakes things properly like this, you don't notice it while packing up, but once you get home, the fragrant bread smell fills the room.

The soft egg tart wasn't too sweet and had a really delicious nutty flavor. The custard filling was packed full and gave a burst of sweetness in every bite. Unlike a typical egg tart, it had a softer texture and a much more pronounced nutty aroma. Confirmed: this is a famous egg tart spot in Haeundae!

The croissant had an amazing buttery aroma. I ate it plain, without any jam or butter, and the nutty flavor and crisp texture were really great. The portion was bigger than expected too, so it's perfect for a breakfast substitute. Highly recommend Low & Sweet Bakery, the egg tart spot near Haeundae Station :)
