I went with a friend to have lunch in Gwangalli at Working Holiday Minrak, a brunch café. It's on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building, and the moment I stepped inside, the sea appeared through the floor-to-ceiling windows, with Gwangan Bridge clearly visible from the window seats — I loved this café right away.

We ordered the jambon pizza and the smashed avocado, and it wasn't just the view that was great — the food was satisfying too.

Working Holiday Minrak is on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building, at the far end of Gwangalli Beach.

Going through the building entrance, there's an elevator — when I visited around weekday lunchtime, it was packed with people.

Getting off on the 7th floor leads straight into the café, and there's a kiosk for ordering right next to the entrance.

From brunch and sides to pasta, pizza, bakery items, coffee, non-coffee drinks, and even wine and other alcohol, the menu was really varied. There was so much we wanted to try that my friend and I spent a while deciding, and eventually

You can have brunch here without needing to move to another café afterward, so it seems like a great spot for days when you want to linger in Gwangalli.

## A spacious café with Gwangan Bridge views

After ordering and heading further into the café, the space was much bigger than I'd expected.

There were all kinds of seating options, from tables for two to sofa seats, and plants, lighting, and furniture placed throughout — it was fun just looking at the interior.

It seemed good for one or two people, but there were also large tables for bigger groups, so it looked like a great place to use for gatherings too.

But what I remember most about Working Holiday Minrak is still the window seats. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sea and Gwangan Bridge unfold in front of you — and most of the window seats were already taken.

Luckily, we got one of the remaining window seats, and I kept looking outside the whole time we were eating. There's also a door by the window that leads out to an outdoor terrace.

The day I went, the weather was really clear, and Gwangan Bridge was visible even better outside than from inside, so I stepped out for a bit to take some photos.

If you're just having coffee and a light bakery item, the terrace seats seem like a great option on a nice day. And if you'd like a window seat inside, it's worth checking on Naver beforehand whether reservable seats are available.

## Jambon pizza, 26,000 won: pistachio on top

After a short wait, our order arrived.

The jambon pizza caught my eye first. It had a generous amount of jambon on top, soft cheese in the middle, and pistachios added on top of that. I'd never had pizza with pistachio before, so this was the dish I was most curious about.

Taking a bite, the salty, soft flavor of the jambon combined with the nutty pistachio, and the combination worked better than I expected. The pistachio flavor didn't stand out on its own either — it blended in well.

I also liked that the dough was chewy yet soft in just the right balance. Eating the jambon and cheese together, the overall flavor felt rich and deep. It was a different combination from the jambon pizza I'm used to, which is exactly why it stuck with me. If you want pizza in Gwangalli and are looking for something other than the usual toppings, this one is worth trying.

## Smashed avocado, 17,000 won: how it paired with the pizza

Since ordering just the pizza felt like it might be a bit heavy, we also chose the smashed avocado.

There was a generous amount of avocado spread on sourdough, topped with a poached egg, roasted tomatoes, and lotus root chips. Various vegetables and lemon were served on the side too, and the plating looked lovely.

At first, I thought the white topping in the middle was burrata cheese.

But as I kept eating, the yolk suddenly ran out, and that's when I realized it was actually a poached egg.

Eating the poached egg, avocado, tomato, and sourdough together was soft and nutty, and the ingredients naturally worked well together. Partway through, I squeezed on the lemon that came with it, and the tartness made the whole thing feel fresher.

Since the jambon pizza was on the richer side, alternating with the smashed avocado worked well as a combination. If you're visiting as a pair, ordering one pizza and one brunch dish to share seems like a good approach.

## Is Working Holiday Minrak worth a weekday lunch in Gwangalli?

Working Holiday Minrak is a place where you can enjoy a Gwangan Bridge view along with brunch. The jambon pizza with pistachio was an unusual but delicious combination, and the smashed avocado, served with vegetables and a poached egg, paired nicely with the pizza.

Above all, the biggest draw was being able to eat brunch in a spacious setting while looking out at the Gwangalli sea and Gwangan Bridge. That said, even on the weekday lunch I visited, the window seats were mostly full, so if a Gwangan Bridge-view seat matters to you, it's better to check reservation availability in advance.

I'd recommend this place for when you want to enjoy a leisurely brunch with a friend, or when you want to handle both a meal and a café visit in Gwangalli at once. Next time, I'd like to order just coffee and a bakery item and spend some time on the terrace instead.
