Another day off this week...! I work in Gwangalli but somehow never actually get out to the beach side, so I decided to go play near the water this time 🥹 And out of all the places, I finally checked out Solsot Gwangalli, which I'd been curious about for a while 😀

🚗There's no dedicated parking lot, so I parked at the nearest one, Busanjip Parking, which is ₩4,000 an hour.

I was in the mood for Korean food, pot rice specifically, so I picked this place. It's right on the main road and close to Gwangalli Beach, so accessibility was great...! (1-minute walk) ✨ There was an easy-to-read menu outside too, and since it's a Korean restaurant for lunch in Gwangalli, Busan, I remember seeing quite a few older passersby stopping to look it over carefully.

## Inside Solsot Gwangalli: 50 seats and what two people ordered

We visited a little early, before lunch hour officially started. Ordering was easy — just use the tablet at the table.

Order complete ✔️ The inside had a generous amount of seating, around 50 seats, and quite a few 2-person tables, so it looked comfortable even for solo dining.

⚠️High chairs available, kids' menu available (cheese pork cutlet) 🚻While waiting I also went to the restroom — it was outside the main space, but it was the cleanest outdoor restroom I've come across haha.

The food came out faster than expected, and it arrived as a neat full table setting — this Korean restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan seemed like a great spot for visiting with family, parents, or even for a date! The salad side dish was fresh, and both the salted squid and the kimchi went really well with the meal — I don't usually eat kimchi when I'm out, but I enjoyed it here. I got a refill on the salted squid 🙌🏻

I thought it would be eaten like a rice bowl, but first they mix all the rice together and scoop it into a bowl. Then they pour in broth and close the lid to make nurungji (scorched rice). That's it — haha! Since it's not the kind of pot rice that sticks and browns on its own, each table gets its own scorched rice to soak in broth themselves.

It'd been a while since we had lunch out, and hairtail isn't easy to cook at home, let alone boneless 💡 I couldn't not order it haha. It was packed with boneless hairtail, and tasted savory and clean. Each pot rice comes with its own dipping sauce — mix it in to taste or dip small spoonfuls, and it seasons everything perfectly.

Salmon pot rice⤴️ Salmon marinated in a special sauce 🍣 At this Korean restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan, the main toppings come in big, generous portions, so it's satisfying to look at and even more satisfying to eat 👍🏻 There were thinly sliced flying fish roe and pickled radish, plus plenty of sesame seeds~

Wrapping bites in the seaweed that comes with each dish worked well too. Two adults, one main dish each plus sides, and we were completely full.

All the side dishes looked appealing, so while I was debating what to get, I thought — when else would I get freshly fried pork cutlet with melting cheese? — and ordered it too 😃

First of all, the cheese stretching out already earns it a pass... The sweet pork cutlet sauce plus the freshly-fried crunch 🫶 It also came with salad, but with a different dressing from the pot rice salad — I appreciated that kind of attention to detail ^,^

You really can't call the meal complete without finishing off the warm nurungji made earlier~! The older I get, the more I love pot rice.

## Is Solsot Gwangalli worth it? Final thoughts

Tourist areas are always short on decent places to actually sit down and eat, so it was nice that Solsot Gwangalli, this Korean restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan, is a place where you can enjoy affordable Korean food and pot rice. FYI, I checked and it's also available for delivery through apps ✔️ My stomach felt comfortable even after the meal, which I really liked 😄
