I heard there was a place to get quality beef in Chimsan-dong, so I went to check it out. It's tucked between the residential streets and the commercial area of Chimsan-dong, making it easy to get to, and it's also a perfect spot for family gatherings — this is Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch (고기9단 침산직영점)!❣️

Once inside, I could see a professional chef in the open kitchen personally trimming fresh cuts of meat, and various consumer-favorite brand award panels and management innovation award plaques on display, which gave me even more confidence in the place!✨

The seats were spaced generously and everything was neatly arranged, making it a great spot not just for a date but also for a Chimsan-dong family gathering!

A neat spread of assorted banchan! As soon as we ordered, the table filled up with so many side dishes it nearly buckled under the weight. From refreshing cabbage mul-kimchi (water kimchi) to appetite-boosting yangnyeom gejang (marinated crab) and japchae (glass noodles), to all kinds of pickles that go well with meat — every single side dish felt made with real care.

Time to lay the beef on the well-heated charcoal and grill it up nicely!

The ventilation was excellent so there wasn't much smoke, and the staff kept refilling whatever we needed, so we could enjoy the meal without any hassle.

The crunchy cabbage mul-kimchi was really the best pairing with the meat!

## Yukhoe and jjolmyeon in the 18,000 won 9dan set

The fresh yukhoe (beef tartare) included in the 9-course set had absolutely no fishy taste and a nutty, chewy texture that was outstanding. The moment I tasted that fresh yukhoe, I understood exactly why this place is known for Daegu's famous beef. 👍

Personally, eating the japchae and yukhoe together was a great combo! Highly, highly recommend!!✔️✔️

Meat has to come with noodles, right? The jjolmyeon (chewy noodles) with spicy-tangy sauce and plenty of crunchy bean sprouts felt like a reset button that let me start eating all over again><. The chewy noodles soaked up the spicy sauce perfectly, cutting through the richness of the beef in the best possible pairing.

Plump crab meat tossed generously in a spicy-sweet, umami-rich sauce was a total rice thief that really got the appetite going.

At the end of the meal, you can't skip the rich, spicy kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) either. Loaded with big chunks of meat and well-fermented kimchi, the broth was deep and full-bodied.

## Patbingsu and the free americano after the meal

A refreshing patbingsu (shaved ice dessert) piled with sweet red beans, chewy rice cake, and cereal flakes made for a perfect dessert. It was the best finishing touch, cleaning up the palate nicely after all that rich beef.

In one corner of the restaurant there's a coffee machine using Starbucks beans, so you can enjoy a fragrant americano for free after your meal. You can have it hot or iced (ice cups provided) depending on your preference, so there's no need to head to a café afterward — such a thoughtful touch. The various awards and certificates covering one wall further boost confidence in the place.

Visiting for a weekend lunch, Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch nailed all three: fresh, high-quality meat, a cozy and stylish atmosphere, and a generous spread of side dishes. In particular, the flower short rib and skirt steak, melting softly in the mouth, kept a smile on my face throughout the meal. It's easy to get to and spacious enough to gather everyone together, so if you're planning any kind of get-together, I'd definitely recommend it as a Daegu family meal spot. It was a wonderful time, filling and satisfying from start to finish!
