Sejong doesn't have a ton to do, but if you look, there's a little something. Sejong doesn't have many great restaurants either, but if you dig, a few places worth going to pop up (I even have a regular spot I've been to N times by now). It's a shame the other buildings around it don't stand out, but the red makes it easy to spot once you arrive, so you won't get lost. Both outside and inside, it felt like being at a restaurant in Italy. Four-person tables and window seats for two The inside of Olivus Compagno wasn't huge, but it wasn't cramped either. The sense of openness and the spacing between tables felt just right. Even without a special occasion, it seemed like a good spot for lunch or a weekend dinner. I went around weekday lunchtime, and aside from the group seating, almost every table was full. We had the steak cooked rare and swapped the pasta for sweet shrimp gamtae (sea lettuce) pasta. (Swapping costs an extra ₩5,000.) The drinks that came out first, along with cute cutlery, were orange juice and lemonade. The sweet shrimp gamtae pasta was really delicious. Personally I thought it could've used a bit more gamtae, but the seasoning was well balanced and the sweet shrimp was nutty and tasty. The gamtae cut through the richness of the oil, and the pasta had a slight spicy kick — everything came together really well. (If there had been more gamtae, I think it would've felt richer and less oily.) Since I'd eaten so much pasta, I was already full and honestly couldn't finish it. Still, it was good (what wouldn't be, really). The garnish was also delicious, especially the potato. It came out with a regular mashed potato filling and a crispy fried exterior, and I ended up more captivated by this than by the steak, wondering how on earth they made it and quietly pondering to myself. Generous portions, great taste, great atmosphere — I'd recommend it if you want to spend a relaxed lunch. ## Would I go back to Olivus Compagno in Boram-dong? Olivus Compagno was, overall, a place with great atmosphere and great food. I think I'll especially keep thinking about that potato. Everything else was delicious too, but once you get fixated on one thing, that's all you remember. And I definitely need to have that pasta again next time. (Apparently gamtae is great for blood circulation, by the way.) I'd like to try their other pastas, and I want to try the pizza too.
