While looking for newly opened spots on Bupyeong's Themed Street, one place really caught my eye! Free gamjatang (potato soup stew) when you order meat!! Getting to eat hot soup alongside grilled meat — isn't that basically the perfect soju pairing!! This is Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal. Let's get into the review~

Located right on Bupyeong's Themed Street — since it's a newly opened branch, it had a really clean, fresh feel.

## Inside Eolkeuni: the room and the soju fridge beside each table

The interior of Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Station Branch was clean overall with plenty of table space. There's a soju fridge near the tables set up so you can just grab drinks yourself.

It seemed like a comfortable spot to grab meat with friends, but also solid for a group dinner with a bigger crowd.

Also pretty neat — there's a soju fridge near the table so you can pull out a drink without even ordering! As someone who enjoys a drink, that was a quietly welcome touch 🍺🍺

The menu at Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal is broadly split into set menus, grilled items, gamjatang, bone jjim (steamed pork bones), bone gui (grilled pork bones), and sides. This visit, we ordered fresh pork belly, 3 servings.

Here's the menu! What really stood out was the setup where ordering 3 servings of meat comes with gamjatang included!

You could also choose between frozen and fresh pork belly, so you could pick based on your preference — nice touch. Among the set menus, the 2-person Eolgamsam combo seemed to be the most popular order! Seems like it'd suit anyone who wants meat and gamjatang together ☺️

## How much free gamjatang comes in that hot pot?

After ordering 3 servings of fresh pork belly, the first thing to arrive was the free gamjatang. I was expecting something like a small stone bowl, but it came out generously in a full hot pot.

But seeing the size of that pot, I had to do a double take..!!

Three big chunks of meat came with it too, so I found myself wondering if this was really the free item 😂😂

The broth had that proper, dedicated-gamjatang-restaurant feel! You could totally come here just for the gamjatang alone lol. The spiciness was just right for scooping a spoonful between bites of pork belly!! Since it kept simmering on the table, the broth flavor deepened little by little as time went on.

It started off tasting clean, but gradually that deep, rich gamjatang flavor came through more and more~~ Even while eating the meat, I kept going back for another spoonful of broth.

## Stone-plate pork belly, torch-seared by the staff

The fresh pork belly at Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal is grilled on a stone plate. Staff grilled it to a certain point and then torch-seared the surface, so there was almost nothing I had to worry about with the grilling.

This is the grill plate! Cooking on a stone plate meant the food stayed warm for longer.

Staff grilled the meat up to a certain point, so I didn't have to focus much on the grilling myself.

Once it was cooked enough, they cut it into bite-sized pieces~ They torch-seared the surface to speed up the cooking, which also added a nice charred flavor!! Even a little fire show 🔥🔥

What especially suited my taste was that the pork belly wasn't cut too thin — it had a satisfying chew!

Visiting Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal in person, it really did live up to its name — a place where enjoying pork belly and gamjatang together is genuinely fun. Especially with 3 servings of fresh pork belly plus that hot-pot gamjatang, the whole meal felt quite hearty 🤍🤍

If you assumed a 'free' gamjatang would come in a small portion, you might actually be surprised once it arrives at your table 😝😝 Recommended for anyone near Bupyeong Station wanting a hearty spread!! Ate well again today.
