## In short

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is a Japanese pot rice (solbap) restaurant in the basement of Tera Tower A, linked to Exit 3 of Munjeong Station in Songpa, Seoul. On a third visit with a coworker, the writer ordered the perilla oil braised mushroom pot rice for 14,500 won and the salmon soboro pot rice for 17,000 won, arriving at 1:30pm after the peak and walking straight in with no wait. The seasoning at Gome Mui is gentle rather than salty, making it an easy Munjeong Station lunch on days when strong flavors feel like too much.

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong, a pot rice restaurant in Munjeong-dong.

While looking for good eats near Munjeong Station, I ended up finding what's now become one of my regular spots — Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong. This was already my third visit, and it's so good that I keep dragging along family, friends, and coworkers. This time too, I used my company lunch break to grab a meal with a coworker.

## Where is Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong, and where do you park?

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is inside Tera Tower, connected to Exit 3 of Munjeong Station, so it's an easy 5-minute walk from the station. Great accessibility whether you're looking for a lunch or dinner spot.

![Sign indicating Tera Tower Building A](https://img.superchart.com/images/gourmet-mui-songpa-munjeong-hotpot-rice/gourmet-mui-songpa-munjeong-hotpot-rice-03-1qwh6-776.webp)

Munjeong-dong has two Tera Towers — Building A and Building B — so be careful not to mix them up. ❗️ Apparently some people park in Building B and walk over to Building A, but if you do that you won't get the parking benefit, so pay close attention.

The upside is that the underground parking lot has plenty of space, so parking is stress-free. Parking is free for up to 1 hour 30 minutes. Just let a staff member know after your meal and they'll apply the free parking.

## What does the Gome Mui dining room feel like?

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong has a warm, wood-toned interior that's clean and comfortable to eat in. It worked well for a date with my husband, and it wasn't awkward bringing a coworker either.

## What time should you arrive at Gome Mui to skip the wait?

There's something you should know before visiting — the wait. ❗️ On weekdays, the place gets packed with nearby office workers, filling up by around 11:40am, so during peak hours a wait is pretty much guaranteed.

Being a popular spot near Munjeong Station, it gets busy at lunchtime, so I'd recommend arriving before 11:30 or going after the peak has passed. I deliberately visited around 1:30pm to avoid the wait, and I got to eat with plenty of room to spare.

## Perilla oil braised mushroom pot rice, 14,500 won, with minari soy sauce

One of Gome Mui's signature menu items, the perilla oil mushroom pot rice, is ₩14,500. Shiitake mushrooms and garlic braised in perilla oil sit on top of the pot rice, and when you open the lid, the nutty aroma of perilla oil rises up.

![Full table setting with perilla oil mushroom pot rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/gourmet-mui-songpa-munjeong-hotpot-rice/gourmet-mui-songpa-munjeong-hotpot-rice-09-1mo1r-966.webp)

The shiitake mushrooms have a chewy bite, and the garlic braised alongside them loses its sharpness and turns subtly sweet. The white wood ear mushrooms have a crunchy texture that paired well with the sticky rice the more I chewed.

The rice is tasty on its own, but adding the minari (water dropwort) soy sauce seasoning brought out even more savory depth.

The aroma and texture of the minari made it even more delicious.

I also liked that it wasn't heavily seasoned. Paired with the miso soup, gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), pollock roe, and seasoned fish roe that came alongside, it was just right.

The side dishes weren't overpowering either, so they didn't ruin the taste of the rice — and best of all, the coworker I brought along really enjoyed it, which made me proud for having recommended the place.

## Salmon soboro pot rice, 17,000 won: add the secret sauce a little at a time

The salmon soboro pot rice is ₩17,000, and it looks stunning. It's a pot rice topped with nicely grilled, light salmon and soft scrambled egg soboro, served with flying fish roe and a secret sauce — the presentation alone sets it apart.

![Table setting for salmon soboro pot rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/gourmet-mui-songpa-munjeong-hotpot-rice/gourmet-mui-songpa-munjeong-hotpot-rice-14-12cef-966.webp)

Golden scrambled egg soboro, orange flying fish roe, and chopped scallions sit on top of the nicely grilled salmon — just mix it all together evenly and dig in.

The salmon is light rather than greasy, and it paired really well with the fluffy egg soboro and the flying fish roe that pops and adds texture.

Adding the secret sauce little by little really boosts the savory flavor. I'd recommend not pouring it all in at once — add it gradually to suit your taste.

What stood out eating both dishes was that each menu item comes with its own sauce and its own way of eating it, so every dish felt fresh.

Of course, the finishing touch to any pot rice is the nurungji (scorched rice). After scooping out the rice, finishing off the crispy rice left in the pot is so filling you could skip dinner.

## Third visit to Gome Mui: the verdict

Even on my third visit, Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong still delivers. The seasoning isn't heavy and it pairs well with the side dishes, so it's a great pick for days when you don't feel like anything too intense. That's probably why I keep bringing family, friends, and coworkers back. If you're looking for a good spot near Munjeong Station, definitely give Gome Mui's pot rice a try.

By the way, they've also newly opened a branch at Garden Five Hyundai City Outlet. If the Songpa Munjeong branch is busy, or depending on where you're headed, it might be worth picking whichever location is more convenient. I'll try other menu items next time and share another review.
