If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant near Bangi-dong, Songpa where you can eat comfortably, Jjambbongwan Bangi Branch might be a solid pick. It's near Bangi Station on Line 5, and the vibe is also fine for a casual drink with jjambbong or tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) as anju (drinking snacks), so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good jjambbong spot or a bar in Bangi-dong.

The interior was clean and had a comfortable dining atmosphere. The staff was friendly, so it didn't feel awkward even on a first visit.

I'm not the only one who wants to mix rice into jjambbong broth or drink cola with tangsuyuk, right? The biggest feature of Jjambbongwan Bangi Branch is that rice and soda are unlimited. Where else do you even find that these days!?

As someone who absolutely needs coffee after a meal, not having to spend extra on coffee was a huge plus for me.

What I ordered was the fried rice + jjambbong + tangsuyuk set (₩33,000).

There's a variety of set menus depending on what you're craving, so you can pick according to your mood or taste on any given day, which was nice.

I once ordered a set at a cheaper Chinese restaurant that had lots of menu variety but ended up tasting pretty average, so honestly I didn't expect much this time. But Jjambbongwan was both affordable and above-average in taste, so I think I'll keep coming back here whenever I want Chinese food in Bangi-dong.

### Jjambbong: 11,000 won on its own, with 3 spice levels

The jjambbong had 3 adjustable spice levels. What impressed me most was that the noodles were thin and held onto the broth well, and the broth itself was spicy with real depth of flavor.

It was generously loaded with scallops, squid, mussels, zucchini, onion, chives, and more seafood and vegetables — and considering today's prices, ₩11,000 for that as a standalone dish felt like great value.

There was also a subtle smoky wok-hei flavor, which is one more reason I'd want to come back. If you're looking for a place that does jjambbong well in Bangi-dong, you'll probably like it.

### Fried rice: fluffy grains with jjambbong broth on the side

The fried rice had fluffy grains that paired well with the jjajang sauce.

The rice itself wasn't salty and had a light, clean style, which made it blend even better with the jjajang sauce.

I personally prefer fried rice over jjajangmyeon, and this wasn't greasy with a clean finish — if you like fried rice, you should definitely try it.

By the way, the fried rice comes with jjambbong broth on the side. A lot of Chinese restaurants don't offer that anymore these days, but Jjambbongwan Bangi Branch's broth had plenty of vegetables and seafood in it too.

### Tangsuyuk: sauce served separately for dipping

Usually with dip-style tangsuyuk, the vegetables are mixed into the sauce. But this place was unique — there were no vegetables in the sauce; ❗️instead, the vegetables were stir-fried in oil first and placed on top of the meat, so the vegetable texture stayed crisp instead of going soft.

The batter was thin and crispy, and the meat inside was thick, chewy, and free of any gamey smell — that stuck with me.

## Final verdict and what to order next time

Overall it was a satisfying meal and I'd want to come back. Next time I want to try the sichuan tangsuyuk and the soft tofu jjambbong-bap. Those were what the people at the next table ordered, and I kept glancing over.
