## In short

Sangnok Hoegwan Yeontan Gui Goseong Branch is a charcoal-grill pork belly restaurant in Goseong-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, right in front of Exit 4 of Bukgucheong Station. We ordered pork belly at 6,500 won per 100g four times (400g in total) plus scallops at 15,000 won, grilled it all on a wire rack over the charcoal brazier, and finished with dessert naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles). Because Sangnok Hoegwan lets you order in 100g portions, meat and seafood are easy to enjoy in one light meal.

So I went to a hotspot where you can enjoy everything from clean, juicy pork to fresh seafood in one sitting without breaking the bank. Here's my honest review of a big, satisfying meal at Sangnok Hoegwan Yeontan Gui Goseong Branch, the word-of-mouth pork belly spot in Goseong-dong right in front of Bukgucheong Station.

## What is the atmosphere like? A retro pocha with a charcoal brazier at every table

The moment you walk in, you feel that cozy retro pocha (street tent bar) atmosphere. Every table has a properly heated charcoal fire set into it, so even before you eat, the gentle smoky aroma already has you anticipating how good it's going to taste. The interior is clean and comfortable, with well-arranged group seating, making it great for a date, a family meal, or a group gathering.

## How the 100g ordering system works, and what the menu costs

One of the great things here is the wallet-friendly value and the smart 100g ordering system. They say they trim the good-quality meat by hand every day, and you can try small portions of different cuts. To properly enjoy this Goseong-dong pork belly spot, we ordered the signature menu items. There's even a pork bo (a larger cut) at ₩35,000 — the value is insane.

![Menu board listing pork belly at ₩6,500 per 100g and other items](https://img.superchart.com/images/sangnok-hoegwan-goseong-samgyeopsal-100g/sangnok-hoegwan-goseong-samgyeopsal-100g-08-73a9g-900.webp)

Pork belly is ₩6,500 per 100g, and scallops are ₩15,000. We ordered four servings of pork belly (400g total) along with the scallops.

Side dishes to go with the meal showed up too — scallion salad, pickled radish, onion sauce, bean sprouts, kimchi. They even gave us marshmallows, so we roasted those over the charcoal fire too.

It felt just like camping, and I loved it~~

## How does the charcoal-grilled pork belly taste? Coarse salt is the best dip

Here comes the pork belly. Look at that beautiful color!

I was surprised by how much the scallops came out. Wait, this is only ₩15,000?

They laid the thick cuts of meat over the roaring charcoal brazier's grill. The sizzling sound and the delicious smell filling the air.

With such strong heat, the meat cooks up delicious and picks up that distinct charcoal aroma, making it taste even better. No off-flavors at all — let's dig in.

Crispy on the outside, juices locked in on the inside — the moment you bite in, it just bursts!

With good fire and good meat, just dipping it in salt tasted the best. The owner really gets it — someone who knows that dipping into coarse salt makes it even more delicious!!! The natural chewiness and clean flavor of the meat made it obvious why locals rave about this Goseong-dong pork belly spot.

Can't forget the lettuce wrap combo either~~? Wasabi actually went really well with the pork belly too. No off-flavor, crispy outside and tender inside — really delicious pork belly.

## Cheese scallops at 15,000 won: a surprisingly large portion

I love grilled shellfish but could never afford it much — the scallops at Sangnok Hoegwan Yeontan Gui are seriously the best.

The clams were so fresh I felt like I was eating at a specialty seafood restaurant sourcing straight from the coast. They didn't skimp on the cheese either, which made it even better.

One bite of meat, one bite of shellfish — I just kept going non-stop.

The cheese scallops bubbling away over the fire had zero fishy taste, just chewy and delicious.

A bite of nicely browned meat, then a bite of cool, fresh seafood — the ultimate combo, never getting tired of it, endless appetite.

It really does taste better because it's this fresh. I'm planning to come back to try the grilled daeha (king prawns) next time!

## Finishing the meal with dessert naengmyeon

We wrapped up the meal at Sangnok Hoegwan, a Goseong-dong pork belly spot that really knows its stuff, with dessert naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles).

- High-quality meat, full of juice, grilled over strong charcoal heat
- A smart, budget-friendly system that lets you order in additional 100g portions
- The appeal of enjoying fresh seafood like scallops and fan mussels in the same sitting

If you want to satisfy both the rich savoriness of meat and the freshness of seafood at once, I recommend Sangnok Hoegwan Yeontan Gui Goseong Branch, a true must-visit pork belly spot in Goseong-dong :)
