# Daegu Korean restaurant near The Hyundai: 20-minute Friday-night wait

On a third visit, Banwoldang Bujasikdang still earns the wait, and the 3 parking spots out front and quieter hours make it easier.

Today I went to a #KoreanRestaurant near The Hyundai Daegu — this is probably my third post about Bujasikdang on this blog haha 🤣🤣 So let me give you the honest review and tips from a regular customer.

## Banwoldang Bujasikdang: location, hours and parking

There are 3 parking spots in front of the store, but I've never visited at lunchtime so I can't speak to that — at dinner, though, I've never seen all 3 spots free. There's a paid parking lot right behind the store, so I'd suggest coming to the restaurant first and using the paid lot behind if there's no space.

## How long is the Friday night wait?

Through the Tabling app, you can either queue remotely or wait on-site.

There's one bench outside and 3 chairs inside for waiting, but it was so hot that day that waiting outside was rough. If you hate waiting or feel the heat easily, I'd suggest queuing remotely through Tabling, or arriving around 19:50-20:00!!

The tables mostly seat 4, and there's a private room too, so it's good for group visits. Since there's a wait, I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservation for group visits — it's possible for up to 8 people.

## What we ordered and the side dishes that come with it

If there's no wait, you order at the table via tablet, but since we were waiting, the staff took our order in advance so it was ready right after we sat down. The main dish came out in 8 minutes!

If you go during the day, they also give you fried burdock, which is so good it's a must-refill item, but it always sells out by lunch so I've only had it once 🥹 Definitely try it if you go for lunch! (Also sold separately.)

## Squid-pork stir-fry for two, 14,000 won per person

Bujasikdang's signature dish can only be ordered starting from two servings, and comes in three versions: pork stir-fry, squid stir-fry, or squid-pork stir-fry.

Squid-pork stir-fry (2 servings), ₩14,000 per person. What we had was the squid-pork combo! Honestly the sauce base is the same for pork and squid stir-fry so there's not a huge difference, but for only 1,000-2,000 won more you get a bigger portion and get to enjoy both, so I always go with the combo.

It comes topped with enoki mushrooms, and since it's served in a stone bowl, once you push them into the sauce they soak it all up — texture and flavor, need I say more.

### Pork or squid: which one if you can only pick one?

I think I'd go with pork. It's not just about the price (pork_₩12,000 / squid_₩13,000) — this sauce's identity seems to shine more with pork than with squid.

## The free countryside cheonggukjang stew with the signature dish

The countryside cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste) stew comes free when you order a signature dish. Maybe because it's cheonggukjang, it's lighter than regular cheonggukjang but nuttier than a plain doenjang stew. Think old-fashioned countryside doenjang stew — if they'd only served the stir-fry without this stew, the meal would've felt like something was missing, but with the broth it feels like a full, hearty meal! My boyfriend and my dad really loved it.

### Making a semi-bibimbap from the side dishes

There's a bibimbap (mixed rice bowl) on the menu too, but its appeal is the meat mixed in, so if you already ordered pork you don't really need it. Mix in the bean sprouts and spicy radish salad from the basic side dishes with some lettuce from the self-serve bar, and you've got a semi-bibimbap. The spicy radish salad in the basic sides is quite tangy, so taste as you add it in.

My boyfriend eats 3 bowls of rice whenever we come here, that's how good it is — definitely try it if you're near The Hyundai Daegu at Banwoldang!
