## In short

Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal (봉용파절이삼겹살) is a Korean BBQ pork belly restaurant near Exit 2 of Dangok Station in Gwanak, Seoul. The menu holds just two items — domestic pork belly, 200g for ₩15,000, and a bowl of rice — and the heap of pajeori (scallion salad) wrapped in lettuce with garlic kept every bite fresh rather than greasy. Rice is free from 11:30 to 14:30, so Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal works as a filling, low-cost lunch as well as dinner.

### Inside Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal: seating and atmosphere

It really felt like a place that's been running for a long time! The kind of spot that can't help but be a genuine local favorite 👍

## Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal menu and prices

The menu board at Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal only had domestic pajeori samgyeopsal 200g for ₩15,000, and rice. That's really the whole menu — pork belly and rice!! They don't sell anything else, which honestly smells like a real local favorite, haha. Pretty affordable, right?!

## What comes with the meal: banchan and table setting

The basic side dishes at Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal are lettuce, kimchi, garlic, and pickled radish. Once I ordered, the table came out generously set up~ Fresh lettuce, kimchi, and garlic came as standard, along with tangy-sweet pickled radish soup that paired well with the meat! There was also sauce, essential for pork belly, so I could mix and match to my taste, haha.

The kimchi was tangy too, which went really well with the pajeori samgyeopsal~!!

## How does the pajeori samgyeopsal taste?

![Pajeori with a generous pile of shredded scallions](https://img.superchart.com/images/bongyong-pajeori-samgyeopsal-danggok/bongyong-pajeori-samgyeopsal-danggok-12-it2va-900.webp)

And now the thing I was most looking forward to — the pajeori (scallion salad)! Even in photos you can see the generous pile of shredded scallions, and eating it together with the pork belly, the combo really lived up to the name, haha. Piling the spicy-tangy seasoned scallions onto nicely grilled pork belly and wrapping it in lettuce cut the greasiness while adding a crunchy texture from the scallions — I just kept reaching for more, ugh. Writing this is making me want to eat it again, ugh.

The pork belly grilled up golden brown, nicely browned on the outside with a juicy inside! The best part was how the savory fat from the pork belly blended with the pajeori seasoning, haha. Loading up on pajeori was definitely better than eating the pork belly plain!

### The best way to eat pork belly with scallion salad

My favorite way to eat it was putting a piece of pork belly on lettuce, piling on plenty of pajeori, adding garlic, and eating it all in one bite. You get the savoriness of the pork belly, the spicy-tangy pajeori, and the sharp bite of garlic all at once — a combo that anyone who likes pork belly would find satisfying, haha.

![Lettuce wrap with garlic added in](https://img.superchart.com/images/bongyong-pajeori-samgyeopsal-danggok/bongyong-pajeori-samgyeopsal-danggok-21-2tm3g-900.webp)

Like in the photo, at the end I kept eating pork belly together with pajeori — the pajeori went so well with the meat that I kept adding more throughout the meal, haha. With lettuce and garlic added in too, it made for a satisfying, filling meal!!

## Final verdict: who should eat at Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal

![Table at Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal after finishing the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/bongyong-pajeori-samgyeopsal-danggok/bongyong-pajeori-samgyeopsal-danggok-24-r0rnz-900.webp)

I think Bongyong Pajeori Samgyeopsal is a great spot for anyone who likes the pork belly and pajeori combo! Since rice is free during lunch hours, it's also good for those who want pork belly with rice as a full meal~~ The savory flavor of the pork belly itself was great, but the biggest draw here is really the pork belly loaded with pajeori, just like the name says, haha. Next time I visit, I want to properly enjoy the pork belly and pajeori combo all over again! 🥩💕

+ It was so good that I already promised my friend we'd go back, haha. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
