My sibling wanted tonkatsu (pork cutlet), so I went looking for a good tonkatsu place near Gyodae Station, and the one I found was Kosi (코시). What we ordered: bukkake udon (₩9,000), gyudon (₩10,500) and the cheese katsu set (₩16,000). ## My first bukkake udon, and how the cheese katsu tasted The bukkake udon (₩9,000) is a cold udon, and since I'd never had cold udon before, I was curious what it would taste like. It's the style where you pour tsuyu (soy-based dipping broth) over the noodles and mix — the broth comes on the side, so you add it little by little to taste. If udon alone feels like not quite enough, or you prefer rice dishes, the gyudon should be a good choice too. With such a varied menu, it'd be nice to come with several people and order udon, tonkatsu and rice bowls to share. This is the cheese katsu set (₩16,000) my sibling wanted. The cutlet is packed with cheese inside, and it was so delicious to eat. My sibling took a bite, said it was delicious and ate it happily. Even someone like me trying cold udon for the first time could eat it comfortably thanks to the cool, chewy noodles, and my sibling enjoyed the cheese katsu stuffed full of cheese, so we both had a satisfying meal. Above all, it's close to Gyodae Station so it's easy to get to, and it seems like a good place for anything from a solo meal to eating with friends or family!
