Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch is about a 7–10 minute walk from Hyochang Park Station or Samgakji Station. My husband had been singing the pork cutlet song at every meal lately, so we finally made it out to a proper cutlet place! For reference, there's a basement parking lot in the building, and you get a full 2 hours free, which is really convenient.

## Inside Onjeong: high chairs, bar seats and the self bar

Walking in, the space isn't huge, but the tables are packed in neatly and efficiently. We showed up right at opening and there were already customers seated. Definitely the kind of place with a real local following!

There's a bar-table area on one side where you can sit comfortably, so it also looks like a great spot for solo dining!!

They also have baby chairs, so it's a good place for families with little ones like us to visit comfortably.

Apparently they fry everything here using a special steam-injection fryer, which makes the cutlets extra crispy.

At the self-bar corner, you can freely refill warm rice and the basic side dishes yourself. With prices these days, unlimited rice refills feel like such a great deal!

Looking at the menu, they have Western-style pork cutlet, spicy cutlet, cheddar cheese cutlet, and curry cutlet. There's also hot udon and cold soba, and the sets pair generously with the cutlets — a really solid lineup!!

After ordering, the udon and pork cutlet set came out super fast! Arranged neatly and appetizingly on the tray — it really caught the eye.

The main cutlet came with crispy handmade pork cutlet, nostalgic morning bread, fresh salad, white rice, and even corn kernels — a perfect old-school Western-style spread!

I figured the udon that came with the set would be a mini portion, but it arrived in a huge bowl, filled all the way up!

Before really digging in, we started with a soft mushroom soup to warm up the appetite — it had big chunks of mushroom packed in, so the texture was really nice haha.

For basic side dishes we got crunchy cubed radish kimchi and pickled radish, and the morning bread came with strawberry jam to spread on it!

I sliced the well-fried, crispy cutlet into easy bites. Instead of a thick Japanese-style cutlet, this is exactly the thin, crispy old-school style I love.

One bite and it's crispy outside, tender inside — really delicious. But what really got me was the sweet, tangy sauce that instantly brought back memories of the cutlets I loved as a kid. Totally my style.

It's a great combo with rice, but splitting open the morning bread, spreading strawberry jam, and tucking in salad and cutlet to make a mini burger is honestly next level!

One sip of the udon broth and you can't help but sigh with satisfaction — pure comfort. The noodles are chewy and plump, packed in generously, plus plenty of fish cake, so this bowl alone would fill you right up.

## How was the buckwheat soba with green tangerine?

My husband ordered the cold soba and pork cutlet set instead of udon, and the cutlet and sides were basically the same as the udon set.

The special touch on this soba is a bit of refreshing green tangerine on top! The tart flavor and fragrant aroma of the green tangerine spread through my mouth, and honestly, to my taste, this soba was even better than the udon.

Slurping up the noodles from the icy, chilled broth — the soba was so good that I ended up stealing bites from my husband's bowl. A little sorry about that haha.

## Is Onjeong worth a family lunch in Yongsan?

I could see right away why this place has so many local regulars — the reviews made sense once we tried it ourselves! The food overall was neat and well-prepared and tasted great, and both my husband and I left this meal really satisfied ^_^
