## In short

Sindorim Sambaekga is a Korean restaurant specializing in jokbal (pork trotters), bossam (boiled pork wrap), and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), a 5-minute walk from Sindorim Station on the 1st floor of the Prugio 1st shopping complex in Guro, Seoul. While looking for a good jokbal (pork trotters) and bossam (boiled pork wrap) spot in Sindorim, I ended up at Sindorim Sambaekga, where you can also enjoy kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) together! The side dishes and the mains were both great quality, and it was a filling meal, so I'm introducing it as a lunch/dinner spot in Sindorim~

The exterior looks like a clean, tidy Korean restaurant. I liked that there was a menu explanation right at the entrance, nice touch🤭 Jokbal and bossam places are usually busiest in the evening, but since they also serve kalguksu here, it's popular enough in the neighborhood to fill up even at lunchtime.

## Interior atmosphere and seating

The interior is clean and pleasant, making it a good spot for a family meal out~ There's everything from solo seats to group tables, so it's comfortable whether you're eating alone, meeting friends, or having a work dinner.

## Barley rice service and dessert drink

Barley rice is free when you order kalguksu! The self-serve bar has barley rice, gochujang, sesame oil, and kimchi ready, so you can mix it up however you like.

There's also a dessert drink ready, nice to cleanse the palate after the meal💛

## Basic side dishes and the complimentary cold jokbal salad

![Persimmon geotjeori, radish kimchi and other basic side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-12-f8xjb-966.webp)

![Basic table setting with lettuce wraps, salted shrimp and ssamjang](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-13-1sr76-966.webp)

The basic side dishes include geotjeori (fresh cabbage salad), radish kimchi, chive kimchi, lettuce wraps, salted shrimp, ssamjang (dipping paste), and garlic sauce. The geotjeori made with ripe persimmon in particular had a subtle sweetness and crunch that paired perfectly with the bossam and jokbal. And the radish kimchi, low-temperature aged for 48 hours using Jeju radish — this place clearly puts real care into its kimchi👏

![Complimentary spicy cold jokbal salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-14-1uhsj-966.webp)

They even give you a spicy, tangy cold jokbal salad on the house🥹

## What's on the menu

![Menu board listing the bossam, jokbal and kalguksu set](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-15-9vmy8-966.webp)

The menu has bossam, jokbal, kalguksu, and sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew). The kalguksu comes in several types like clam, perilla, and spicy, so it's easy to grab for lunch or dinner~ You can get bossam and jokbal half-and-half, and there's a variety of set options too, including makguksu and kalguksu sets.

## The Sambaek Jin Set + kalguksu

![Full spread of the Sambaek Jin Set](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-16-a2xi5-1200.webp)

I ordered the set that lets you try the three main dishes — bossam, jokbal, and kalguksu — all at once. A generous portion, good for 3–4 people👍

![Plate of jokbal boiled from fresh front-leg trotters](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-17-mfli1-966.webp)

![Close-up of chewy jokbal skin](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-18-wt6rm-966.webp)

### The jokbal

The jokbal is made with domestic grade-1 fresh trotters, boiled fresh daily and sold the same day, apparently. Since they only use the front legs, the skin was chewy and the meat was tender. The herbal scent wasn't strong — more of a clean, savory style~

![Bossam boiled pork made with persimmon-fed pork](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-19-16bsn-966.webp)

![A piece of bossam served with garlic sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-20-7ie98-966.webp)

### The bossam

The bossam apparently uses domestic pork raised on Sangju persimmons plus pork belly. Because mulberry leaf powder is added while boiling, there was zero gamey smell and the meat was moist. They also give you garlic sauce as standard, so you can eat it as garlic bossam too🥹💛

![A bowl of perilla kalguksu with rich broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu/sindorim-sambaekga-jinset-deulkkae-kalguksu-21-1hz2c-966.webp)
*Perilla kalguksu*

### Perilla kalguksu

For the kalguksu I picked perilla out of the options — plain, clam, perilla, or bean noodle soup. The broth is simmered with 12 ingredients, so it's rich and savory from the first sip. The perilla makes it an explosion of nuttiness👏 The noodles are 100% domestic fresh noodles, springy and chewy in exactly the right way~

## In summary

Sindorim Sambaekga is great because you can eat meat and kalguksu together, so I'd recommend it as a restorative meal too haha.

- ✔️ A Korean restaurant specializing in jokbal, bossam, and kalguksu
- ✔️ Recommended for the well-composed set menu
