## In short

Bobo Sikdang is a Chinese restaurant with private rooms in Gangnam, Seoul. I tried its spicy crispy monkfish and butter sweet-and-sour pork, and both let the ingredients shine without being overly seasoned. Verdict: A lovely choice for a special meal or group gathering with a room reservation.

Bobo Sikdang (보보식당) is a restaurant run by the chef from Samdaegajung Sik, who appeared on Culinary Class Wars 2, so I’d been really curious about it for ages ✨ After seeing it on the show, I had such high expectations about what it would taste like, and I finally got to visit 😊 Once I tried it, I could see why the chef had appeared on Culinary Class Wars 2: the food was clean and never overly seasoned 💛 Even though it’s Chinese food, it didn’t feel heavy or greasy; the flavors of the ingredients really came through, which made me even happier 🙌 If you’re looking for great Chinese food in Apgujeong or a private-room restaurant for a special day, let me introduce Bobo Sikdang right away ❤️

## Where is Bobo Sikdang?

![Location guide for Bobo Sikdang in Apgujeong](https://img.superchart.com/images/apgujeong-bobo-chinese-private-room/apgujeong-bobo-chinese-private-room-02-1rgpy-900.webp)

Bobo Sikdang has a really great location too 📍 It’s only about a five-minute walk from Exit 6 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, so it was easy to get to 🚶♀️ From Exit 2 of Apgujeong Station, it takes about 15 minutes on foot 😊 It’s right in the middle of Apgujeong, so it’s also nice to pair with an Apgujeong Rodeo date or café stop before or after your meal 💛 It’s in a convenient spot for anyone looking for Chinese food or a private-room restaurant in Apgujeong ✨

## Hours and break time

![Bobo Sikdang hours information](https://img.superchart.com/images/apgujeong-bobo-chinese-private-room/apgujeong-bobo-chinese-private-room-03-so15t-900.webp)

Bobo Sikdang is open daily from 11:30 AM to 10 PM ⏰ Its break time is from 3 PM to 5:30 PM, so it’s best to avoid that window 😊 Since it serves from lunch through dinner, it works nicely for an Apgujeong date or a group meal 💛

## The open kitchen and private-room atmosphere

![Bobo Sikdang open-kitchen interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/apgujeong-bobo-chinese-private-room/apgujeong-bobo-chinese-private-room-05-paonp-900.webp)

The interior at Bobo Sikdang has an open kitchen, which gave the whole place a very clean feel ✨ Because you can see the kitchen, you can naturally watch the food being prepared, and that made it feel even more trustworthy 😊 There are also separate rooms, which are lovely when you want a quiet meal 💛 If you’re planning a special meal, family gathering, or company dinner with several people, I recommend reserving a room in advance 🙌 For anyone looking for a private-room restaurant in Apgujeong, Bobo Sikdang was a nice choice both for its atmosphere and its space ❤️

Once you’re seated, you can sip pu-erh tea while taking your time with the menu 🍵 A warm cup of pu-erh tea freshened up my palate and was perfect for setting the mood before Chinese food 😊 There were so many options that I had to think about what to order, but I leisurely chose each dish while drinking my tea 💛

## I chose à la carte dishes instead of the lunch course

There was a separate lunch menu, but I’m not a fan of mala, so I passed on it this time 😊 Instead, I picked the à la carte dishes I wanted, and it was nice to choose according to my taste 💛 Bobo Sikdang has plenty of individual dishes, so I could still have a very satisfying meal without ordering the lunch course 🙌 I’d never tried apple cider before, so I ordered it out of curiosity 🍎 It tasted just like sparkling apple water—refreshing and light to drink 🥤 It didn’t feel heavy alongside Chinese food and seemed to cleanse my palate nicely, so it was good 😊

## What did the spicy crispy monkfish taste like?

### Spicy crispy monkfish ₩38,000

The moment the spicy crispy monkfish arrived at the table, its distinctive fragrant aroma filled the air and really whetted my appetite 😋

The boneless monkfish was incredibly tender, while the fried coating was pleasantly chewy, making the texture so good 💛 The sauce wasn’t overly heavy either and went beautifully with the monkfish, so I ended up finishing every last bite 🙌

I normally think of steamed monkfish or monkfish soup first, but having it as Chinese food gave it a completely different charm ✨ I was so pleased that it felt like monkfish had made a truly glamorous transformation ❤️

## Sweet-and-sour pork with added butter

### Pork tenderloin butter sweet-and-sour pork ₩35,000

Sweet-and-sour pork is the foundation of any Chinese restaurant, right? 😋 At Bobo Sikdang, I ordered the pork tenderloin butter sweet-and-sour pork 🥩 It comes with a pat of butter, and when you mix it well into the warm pork, the buttery aroma spreads and makes the flavor much richer 🧈 The tenderloin was soft inside and crisp outside, while the batter was thin rather than thick, so the texture came through even better ✨ It was crispy yet still let you properly enjoy the meat, and I kept reaching for more 💛 If you usually love sweet-and-sour pork, I definitely recommend ordering this alongside your meal at Bobo Sikdang 🙌

I really loved Bobo Sikdang’s clean flavors and polished atmosphere overall 😊 The spicy crispy monkfish had tender fish and a pleasantly chewy fried coating, while the pork tenderloin butter sweet-and-sour pork was satisfying with its thin, crisp batter and buttery richness 💛 The open kitchen made everything feel clean, and there are separate rooms too, so it’s a great fit for anyone looking for a private-room restaurant in Apgujeong 🙌 If you’re looking for a special-day meal, company dinner, or an Apgujeong date spot, it would be nice to reserve a room in advance ✨ I’d recommend Bobo Sikdang to anyone curious about a Culinary Class Wars 2 restaurant or looking for great Chinese food in Apgujeong ❤️
