Rather than the cozy, weighty feeling typical of a gomtang place, it felt trendy, light, and clean, so coming alone would not feel awkward at all. There were actually seats set up nicely for solo diners too!! There was much more meat and rice than I expected, so even one bowl was very filling!! The meat was truly soft and tender, with a slight smoky char coming through, and the flavor was just so good!! It is tasty on its own, but adding a little to the meat makes the flavor come alive even more!! The spicy gomtang has a good kick, so I kept spooning it up without it ever feeling rich; if I had to choose, the spicy one was more my taste. The rice was not just plain white rice either—it had a little barley mixed in, giving it a better texture and making it an even better match when mixed into the soup!! - Great view, haha—a Seongsu street view~ - Generous meat makes for a hearty meal - The gochuji sauce pairing is addictive, haha - The restaurant is clean and comfortable for solo dining - Being in the Musinsa building means you can browse after eating - The price point is a little high I stopped by casually while looking for a Korean restaurant in Seongsu, and this trendy, modern take on gomtang stayed with me as something a little different, haha.
