Today I visited Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch, a place in Suji, Yongin where you can enjoy great noodle dishes and pork cutlet together. I found it while searching for a good pork cutlet spot in Suji because I was really craving one. As the name suggests, they have a wide variety of noodle dishes, and I heard the pork cutlet is great too, so I was curious and decided to visit.

To cut to the conclusion first — the cheese pork cutlet and buckwheat soba combo was really good here. Especially the cheese cutlet, if you're a cheese lover, you'll be satisfied.

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is located on the first floor of the Seohee Star Hills commercial building in Seongbok-dong, Suji-gu, Yongin. It's easy to find if you walk along Seongbok Stream — a good spot for people looking for a neighborhood favorite while taking a stroll around the stream before or after eating.

### Interior and seating

Inside, there were about 10 tables, and the overall atmosphere was clean and comfortable. We visited a bit early, around 5pm, and at first there were only one or two tables occupied.

### What time does it get busy in the evening?

But dinnertime made a real difference. As it got closer to 6pm, customers started coming in one by one, and by the 6-7pm dinner rush, the place was almost completely full.

## Menu lineup

True to the name Chilseong Jemyeonso (which means noodle house), the noodle menu is really varied.

From buckwheat noodles to naengmyeon (cold noodles), kongguksu (chilled soy milk noodle soup), udon, jjolmyeon, and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), there's so much on offer that I spent a while just deciding what to order looking at the menu board. (Check the photos for the full menu 😉)

Since there were two of us, we wanted to try a bit of everything, but we couldn't order too much, so after some deliberation we picked a few things.

## Galbi Mandu (₩6,000)

Along with the mains, we ordered galbi mandu (rib-flavored dumplings) as a side. The dumplings came out first, so we dug in right away.

There was a subtle sweetness but overall it was light and clean-tasting, and with the first bite there was quite a bit of juiciness, so it was better than expected. Great as a light side dish. I'd definitely recommend adding an order of mandu when you feel like noodles alone aren't quite enough.

## Real Cheese Pork Cutlet (₩14,500)

Then came the cheese pork cutlet I was most looking forward to. Since I came here specifically craving pork cutlet, this was personally the dish I had the highest expectations for — and just visually, the cheese is really generous.

There's so much cheese packed in that when you lift a piece with chopsticks, the cheese stretches out in long strings — if you're a cheese lover, you'll be happy from this moment on 😆

The meat was also thicker than expected, giving it a satisfying bite, and the crispy cutlet paired really well with the soft, stretchy cheese. Above all, the generous amount of cheese was satisfying. It's honestly getting harder to find a good cheese pork cutlet these days, but if you love cheese cutlets, this is a dish you'll be happy with, no question.

## Pan Buckwheat Soba (₩10,000)

And the buckwheat soba we ordered alongside it. Personally, this was the combination I liked most out of everything we ate that day — cheese pork cutlet plus buckwheat soba.

Eating pork cutlet alone can get a bit rich, but pairing it with buckwheat soba felt like it cleanly reset your palate. A bite of cutlet, then a bite of soba — you know how well that combo works, right?

We visited with our baby, and the buckwheat soba was also fine to share with her, so families visiting with young kids might find this useful to know.

## Honest overall review

Overall, Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch felt like a comfortable place to visit whenever you're craving noodles or a light meal. There's a wide variety of noodle dishes to choose from depending on your taste, and ordering pork cutlet and noodles together, like we did, worked out well too.

The cheese pork cutlet had generous cheese and thick meat, which was satisfying, and the buckwheat soba cut through the richness of the cutlet perfectly when eaten together — a really good pairing. The galbi mandu was also nice as a side. I haven't tried the other menu items yet, but looking at the menu board, there were plenty more I wanted to try. Next time I'll work through the naengmyeon, udon, and kongguksu one by one.
