I hadn't been out on a proper outing in a while~~ We looked around the school my boyfriend went to and ate ramen out front like students again — such a fun time. ## Where is Mentsuru Children's Grand Park Branch, and how close is it to Sejong and Konkuk? Mentsuru sits right in front of Children's Grand Park Station, roughly halfway between Sejong University and Konkuk University. After we finished eating and walked all around the Sejong campus back to the station, it took only 25 minutes total. The solo seats even have a power outlet you can use for a quick charge. Besides the basic shio ramen and shoyu ramen, they also have rice bowls like hormone-don (offal rice bowl) and gyudon (beef rice bowl). Water and pickled radish were already on the table. We got motsu ramen with extra menma (bamboo shoots), and spicy shoyu ramen with extra pork belly. After going back and forth between takoyaki and karaage, we ordered the karaage (₩7,000). Total came to ₩37,000. The kitchen was busy boiling noodles and broth, steam rising everywhere. The motsu ramen came out first, and it looked properly fiery right away. I don't eat gopchang (beef intestines) myself, but it looked incredibly appetizing. (I did steal some of the broth later haha.) We came in starving, so I was glad it came out fast — even though the place was so full there wasn't an empty seat. Ramen really does seem to come out quickly no matter where you go. My boyfriend loved how generous the motsu ramen ingredients were. It's definitely a portion that leaves no room to be hungry afterward. Since it's built on a chicken broth base, the spiciness felt clean. It was fine for me, but my boyfriend was sweating from the heat! Apparently the spicy shoyu ramen is a bit spicier than the motsu ramen. Adding pork belly made the portion huge, so we split it between us. The batter was nice and crispy, and it was a little thick, which is right up my alley. Underneath the karaage sat a lemon wedge and two kinds of sauce. The sharp heat from the ramen really cut through the richness of the karaage. ## Verdict: a ramen stop worth making before or after Children's Grand Park That's Mentsuru, the ramen restaurant near Children's Grand Park Station with great accessibility and fast food. Even as we were leaving, they kindly asked, "How was your meal? Thank you so much!!" — friendly service right to the end. Given today's prices, the value felt reasonable too, and it's a good place to start a day out quickly before heading off to play.
