Bam!

I stopped by Sangam Hoegwan, the restaurant that keeps Sangam-dong office workers fed at lunch. It used to run out of a small space, but it's since moved into the food court on the basement level of Sangam IT Tower, and what I liked most was that the bigger space meant I could sit down comfortably at lunchtime without a long wait.

## Where is Sangam Hoegwan and how do you get there?

Sangam Hoegwan is in the food court on the basement level of Sangam IT Tower. Getting there is easy — just look for the Sangam IT Tower building, about a 4-minute walk from the old location at Savoy City DMC.

Head down to the basement level and a spacious food court opens up. Keep walking straight and you'll see Sangam Hoegwan right ahead of you.

There's a self-service kiosk set up, so ordering is simple. The space is spacious with generous gaps between tables, letting me focus on my meal in a quiet, cozy atmosphere.

## What's on the menu at Sangam Hoegwan?

Sangam Hoegwan runs on the philosophy that "even a single dish should be made with depth and care," and it's also famous for its kongguksu (cold soy milk noodles). They say every morning they brew a rich broth from carefully selected fresh soybeans and serve noodles boiled with care.

First, the bibim guksu dumpling set came loaded with crisp cucumber, and the spicy-sweet sauce coated the noodles perfectly, whetting my appetite.

It wasn't harsh at all but still packed with savory depth, the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more, and the dumplings that came with it were stuffed generously, making the whole plate that much more filling alongside the noodles.

The moment the deulgireum milmyeon dumpling set hit the table, the nutty scent of perilla oil hit my nose.

The noodles were evenly coated in perilla oil, seaweed flakes, and sesame seeds, giving a deep, nutty flavor.

The clean yet gently spreading richness of the perilla oil was outstanding, and I'd strongly recommend this to anyone who doesn't like intense flavors. The two dumplings that came with the set paired beautifully too.

## Kimchi pancake and a plate of four dumplings

The kimchi pancake I ordered as a side was cooked crispy on the outside and moist inside — the texture was excellent.

The spicy yet clean taste of the kimchi went really well with the noodles — a nice treat.

As you can see in the photos of the pancake's crispy texture, you could actually feel the crunch when picking up the edge with chopsticks.

The dumpling plate (4 pieces) also had thin wrappers with a generous filling — dipped lightly in soy sauce, the juicy filling burst across my mouth.

Looking inside the dumplings, they were packed with meat and chives without holding back — the bite was fantastic.

## Is Sangam Hoegwan worth it for a Sangam work lunch?

Overall, every dish felt like it was made with care. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent, making for a thoroughly satisfying meal. In a spacious, comfortable setting, I got to enjoy delicious noodles and solid side dishes — it was a satisfying lunch at a good restaurant in Sangam.

When you're craving an easy-on-the-stomach, filling meal in the middle of a hectic day, or want to try a special bowl made with real care, I'd recommend visiting Sangam Hoegwan. It's a Sangam lunch spot that's memorable for both its food and its space.
