I visited Insaeng Donkatsu Dongtan Mokdong Branch, a place where you can enjoy pork cutlet, pasta and udon all together.

It's located in Woosung Star Park Building B, and the moment you step inside, you get the feeling of ducking into a small restaurant on a trip to Japan — the biggest highlight here is an interior styled after a Japanese subway.

## Where do you park at Insaeng Donkatsu Dongtan Mokdong?

If you use the parking lot inside Woosung Star Park Building B, you get 1 hour 15 minutes free. After that, it's ₩3,000 per 60 minutes.

If you don't mind walking a bit, there's also the Dongtan Mokdong public parking lot about a 3-minute walk away. It gives 1 hour 30 minutes free, so if you want to eat at a relaxed pace, using the public lot seemed like a good option too. Given how long a meal takes, I'd recommend the public lot for its extra parking room.

## A Japanese subway car recreated inside the restaurant

The first thing that caught my eye stepping into the restaurant was, of course, the interior.

Design elements reminiscent of the Japanese subway are placed throughout, creating the mood of stepping off a train at some Japanese subway station and wandering into a nearby restaurant.

The walls and layout keep that subway feel too, with cute props and design touches added on top, so it's not just a place to eat — it's fun to look around and take photos.

I especially liked the interior touches that reminded me of the signboards and route maps you'd see at a subway station on a trip to Japan.

Overall it's clean while still packing in plenty of fun details, making it a good fit both for a date spot for younger visitors and for a family meal with kids. When I visited, I noticed both families eating with children and couples on dates.

## 2nd anniversary weekday discounts and set menus

They were also running a thank-you event for Insaeng Donkatsu's 2nd anniversary. There's a different discounted menu of the day depending on which day you visit, so you can eat a bit more affordably depending on your visit day.

There are various set combinations from single-person sets to sets for two, so it seemed like a good choice whether you're visiting alone or with family or friends. Since you can mix in udon and pasta along with pork cutlet, it also seemed good for a group where everyone wants to pick their own dish and share.

### Ordering by kiosk and what's on the self-service bar

You order at a kiosk. And the self-service bar was impressive — the tableware was neatly arranged and kept clean, so I could easily check and grab whatever utensils I needed.

Since this is a pork cutlet specialty restaurant, I went with a few different pork cutlets rather than other menu items.

With okonomiyaki-style sauce and toppings added to a crisply fried cutlet, the flavor was richer and more distinctive than an ordinary pork cutlet.

It paired well with the fresh salad and plain rice on the side.

Going spicy also seemed to cut through the richness a pork cutlet can otherwise have.

If the spice level feels like too much, adjusting the amount of sauce piece by piece worked fine for me.

The second dish was the whole mozzarella cheese pork cutlet.

As the name suggests, this pork cutlet is made with whole mozzarella cheese, and there's fun in seeing the cheese revealed when you cut into it.

With cheese pork cutlet especially, it matters to eat it while it's hot. If you leave it too long, the cheese firms up and loses that initial soft texture, so it's best to cut it into bite-sized pieces and eat it right away while warm.

It's a cute, distinctive space, so if you're looking for a pork cutlet restaurant in the 2 Dongtan area, this one seemed like a good fit — light on the wallet, good for visiting with kids, and with a nice atmosphere for a meal on a date too.
