Today I'm introducing a place called 'Jjin Susan' (찐수산), located in the Jumunjin breakwater fish market. It's a partner store of the Mermaid Pirates seafood app and a Blue Ribbon-certified sashimi restaurant, famous for fresh live fish sashimi, seasonal seafood, and even Jumunjin snow crab and red crab.😆 Here's my takeout review from Jjin Susan!

## Jjin Susan's fish tanks and parking: what to expect

Jjin Susan has a parking space right in front of the store, so parking was easy and convenient. Walking into the entrance, a large, cleanly maintained fish tank caught my eye immediately. True to being a Mermaid Pirates partner store and Blue Ribbon-certified restaurant, the water quality was impeccably managed, and my kid had a blast looking at the tank too.🐟

We ordered the East Coast Special Assorted Sashimi for 2 (takeout only) in advance since we planned to eat back at our accommodation. While the order was being packed, we looked around inside the restaurant.

## The ocean-view terrace that makes dining in worth it

Inside Jjin Susan, a wide-open ocean view stretches out beyond the big windows. While waiting for our takeout, we stepped inside and honestly gasped at the view. Eating sashimi on the terrace with a cool, gentle sea breeze looked absolutely wonderful. There's also a balcony space, and while we waited we spaced out on the balcony just staring at the ocean.🌊

I'd gone in already planning to get takeout since we had a kid with us, but with an interior and ocean view like this, I thought next time it would be more than worth actually dining in with my child instead of just doing takeout. Reluctantly, I gathered our packed sashimi and headed back to our accommodation.🥲

## What comes in the East Coast Special Assorted Sashimi for 2 takeout

The East Coast Special Assorted Sashimi for 2 from Jjin Susan came packed with flounder, red seabream, and fresh seasonal wild flatfish. We got back to our accommodation and eagerly unpacked it. Takeout food can be disappointing if it's not fresh or has any odor, but the moment we opened the lid there wasn't a hint of fishy smell — just a faint sea scent and glossy, glistening sashimi. The colorful, neatly arranged presentation made us so happy.🤩

There are several sashimi takeout spots in Jumunjin, but here the grain of each cut of fish was distinctly alive, and the moist texture was on another level.👍👍

Dipping a piece with a touch of wasabi into soy sauce, the chewy, savory umami spread through my whole mouth. The sashimi was sliced with care to just the right thickness — not too thin, not too thick — so with every bite you could really taste the fish's firm, savory texture.

They also included sweet-and-sour sushi rice, so we made our own hand-rolled sushi topped with generous slices of fish — a treat that felt just as good as at a proper sushi restaurant.🍣

## Is Jjin Susan a good stop with a child?

Jjin Susan had a baby chair and a fish tank to look at, making it a great spot to visit with a child. We finished our meal happy and full, and the seasonal snow crab and red crab looked so fresh that I now want to try taking those home next time too. The ocean view is still lingering in my mind, and I want to go back.🥹🥹 Between the gorgeous sea view, the quality of the fresh sashimi, and conveniences like the baby chair, it's a wonderful place to visit with kids too.
