Not long ago I was craving something hot and hearty, so I went with my family to Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, a well-known restaurant in Ingye-dong. I'd been missing the dombe pork I tried on a trip to Jeju, on top of the hangover soup, so I went in hoping it would bring back that same feeling.

## Is parking easy?

When you're driving with a kid in the car, a tight parking lot can make you nervous the moment you pull in. 😅 This place has ground-level parking for about 10 cars right in front. And even if the front lot is full, they say there's space for up to 25 cars total between the ground and basement lots, which made parking a lot less stressful.

## An atmosphere that's easy with a kid in tow

Walking inside, a neat interior with wood tones that felt reminiscent of Jeju greeted us.

The space was spacious and comfortable, and with baby chairs on hand, it felt like a useful layout for family gatherings or a quick meal with kids.

## Thoughtful ordering options and a well-stocked self bar

We could browse the menu at our own pace using the tablet at each table. When choosing the soup, we could specify whether or not to include blood cubes or seasoning sauce (dadaegi). It felt considerate of people who can't eat blood cubes or who prefer clear broth. 😁

I was also impressed that the self bar items were listed right next to the menu on the wall.

It was convenient to be able to check from our seats that cheongyang peppers, minced garlic, a baby spoon and fork, scissors, and a ladle were all available. There was even a phone charger. And ordering an individual meal came with a free extra bowl of rice, which added to the hearty feeling.

## The deep flavor of a 24-hour bone broth

I also loved how fast the food came out after ordering. When you're visiting with a hungry kid, a short wait is a big plus. 😇

The haejangguk (hangover soup) came first. The stone pot was piled high with sliced scallions, Haenam-style dried greens, fresh bean sprouts, and generous meat with no off flavor at all. Maybe because it uses bone broth simmered for 24 hours, the first spoonful hit with a deep, rich flavor right away. It felt like it warmed up my empty stomach from the inside. 😌

## Dombe pork the kid loved, and hanchi mulhoe as a palate cleanser

For something the kid could eat too, we ordered the dombe pork (small, 120g). There were medium (240g) and large (360g) options too, but it was so good I regretted not ordering medium. 😭

The meat wasn't chewy at all — it was tender enough that even a young kid could pick it up herself. Wrapping a piece in fresh lettuce with a little salted shrimp added a savory depth that worked really well.

Partway through the warm soup, we also shared a bowl of hanchi mulhoe (squid cold soup), which turned out to be a real treat. The chewy squid, crisp vegetables, and tangy-sweet icy broth cleansed the palate nicely.
