## In short

Ttasijia Yeonnam is a Singaporean restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul. Before a movie date, we had shrimp fried noodles, shrimp gukbap, and black-vinegar guobaorou; the travel-like setting and the last two dishes really stayed with me. A fun pick for an unusual Yeonnam-dong date meal.

On movie day, my husband and I finally went to see Odyssey, the film everyone has been talking about. It was a Yeonnam-dong date near Hongdae for the first time in ages, so I immediately asked around for a good restaurant and off we went to Ttasijia Yeonnam (따시지아 연남).

Apparently, this place earned Michelin recognition in Singapore for six years before opening in Korea. If you enjoy unusual food, I think anyone would be satisfied here > <

## A travel-like atmosphere in a Yeonnam-dong alley

It is about 450 meters from Hongik University Station. As you wander through the Yeonnam-dong alleys, its interior design really catches your eye among all the restaurants. It genuinely feels like you are traveling! +_+ The entrance makes such a strong impression, and the whole walk in just puts you in a good mood. We enjoyed our Yeonnam-dong date meal with that exciting travel feeling.

A Merlion was spouting water along the way too > < Above the entrance, the name is written in English as Dasijia, haha. Apparently it means “big eater” :) How much are we planning to eattt.. > <

Booking through Naver Reservation was easy, and it was approved right away, which was great! So good~ We arrived before our reservation, gave our name, went in, and settled into the seats we wanted—done!

The atmosphere inside was pretty nice too! Maybe because it had only recently opened, everything was kept very clean, and the high ceiling made it feel wonderfully open!! +_+ There is outdoor seating and an annex too, so group bookings are no problem~ It is a perfectly good choice for a Yeonnam-dong date!

They also have a variety of alcoholic drinks, so you could come in the evening for drinks with dinner, or meet friends for drinks and snacks! Singaporean flavors, drinks, and alcohol in such an unusual setting—you can have such a fun time > <

## Three top-ranked dishes chosen on the tablet

Each table has a tablet menu for ordering. Looking through it, I saw that the signature dishes and best rankings were organized clearly, making it easy to order > < We happily picked three from the best-ranking list, haha: shrimp fried noodles, shrimp gukbap (rice soup), and black-vinegar guobaorou (crispy sweet-and-sour pork)!

### Shrimp fried noodles, my first time trying them

This is the shrimp fried noodles! It was a dish I had never tried before, and it felt so unusual!! +_+ Very thin somyeon (wheat noodles) were cooked in a lightly soupy broth. It came topped with king prawns, so the presentation passed right away! My husband and I neatly pulled one apart each and dipped them in sauce. Any extra sauces you need are at one side of the table!

### Shrimp gukbap that was delicious without feeling unfamiliar

Personally, the shrimp gukbap was so delicious! It is basically the kind of gukbap that Koreans love, so it did not feel unfamiliar at all and I enjoyed it so much! The seafood flavor and shrimp were lovely, and there was cooked cabbage inside too > <

### My number-one pick: black-vinegar guobaorou

And my absolute number-one pick was the black-vinegar guobaorou, wow. The aroma was so strong when I ate it that I coughed a little, haha, but once it was in my mouth, the sauce was seriously delicious > < They gave us scissors and tongs separately, so we cut it up and ate it well. If you want a restaurant with an unusual feel, stop by Ttasijia Yeonnam and enjoy some tasty Singaporean food!

We finished every last drop of the broth~ We ate every dish so deliciously and left. If you are hungry before a Yeonnam-dong date, stop in here and fill up properly :) We were so excited about eating out after so long that we cleared everything!

It was my first time at Ttasijia Yeonnam, but the pretty orange glow through the Yeonnam-dong alleys is enough to tempt you right inside! And it had six consecutive years of Michelin recognition in Singapore—so yes, it really is a good restaurant, haha.

Looking at it again now, there was meat in there too > < Things I did not notice while I was busily spooning up the gukbap, pfft haha. The atmosphere was nice too! With the clean interior and unusual food together, it really felt like we had been on a trip, haha.

![Area around the Ttasijia Yeonnam register](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonnam-singapore-noodle-dashijia/yeonnam-singapore-noodle-dashijia-23-k47im-966.webp)

![Hair ties and dental floss at the register](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonnam-singapore-noodle-dashijia/yeonnam-singapore-noodle-dashijia-24-1hqbc-966.webp)

We cleared it all out +_+ They even had hair ties and dental floss ready by the register. Next time, Singapore means crab, so I should try a crab dish. They also said the apple juice was good, so I am making a note of that :)
