It's a direct branch of the famous Yongsan Hyeonseonine, known as one of Korea's top three tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) spots, and it had just finished a renovation — so we got to eat in a cleaner, more pleasant space! ## Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, and what are the hours? Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is on basement level 2 of IFC Mall, 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's easy to find, right near the moving walkway that connects to Exit 3 of Yeouido Station. - Weekday hours (Mon–Fri): 11:00 ~ 21:00 (last order 20:40) - Weekend hours (Sat–Sun): 12:00 ~ 21:00 (last order 20:40) ## How busy is Hyeonseonine at 3pm? We visited at the slightly awkward hour of 3pm after the Banksy exhibition, and even so it was packed — living up to its reputation as a lunch favorite in IFC Mall, Yeouido. The location is so convenient that it's perfect for a quick meal before or after an exhibition, or while shopping. We ordered the Hyeonseoni Set with tteokbokki, sundae (Korean blood sausage), fritters and mini gimbap, but the instant tteokbokki at the next table looked really good too. Hyeonseonine's mild tteokbokki has a sweet-spicy savory flavor that even kids or people who can't handle spice can enjoy without worry. The sauce isn't just on the surface — it soaks right into the soft, chewy rice cakes, and it was seriously addictive, kept reaching for more! The kids found it just barely a little spicy, but with some water on the side, they ended up eating way more than expected and loving it. ### Sundae (Korean blood sausage) The sundae (Korean blood sausage) stood out for its moist, tender texture with no off smell at all. The chewiness typical of chalsundae (glutinous rice sundae) came through nicely — it's savory even dipped in just salt, but soaked in the tteokbokki sauce, it pairs incredibly well with the sweet-spicy flavors! The batter wasn't too thick and had a nice savory flavor, so it wasn't greasy at all — just light and satisfying. Dipped in the tteokbokki sauce, the crunch and the spicy sauce came together for an even richer flavor! Sundae goes with tteokbokki sauce, fritters go with tteokbokki sauce — it's all connected! It's not a strong flavor, so it's great topped with tteokbokki sauce or eaten alongside sundae and fritters.
