## In short

Yukjjip is an aged-pork Korean BBQ restaurant in Eunpyeong, Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Eungam Station Exit 4 and right beside Bulgwangcheon stream. On a weekday evening a couple ordered two servings of pork neck and one of pork belly, grilled at the table by staff, then finished the meal with yeolmu bibimbap (young radish green rice) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The pork neck was thick and juicy and the pork belly deeply savory, with the portion size just right for two people.

My wife and I wanted to eat meat near Eungam Station on a weekday evening, so after searching around for a while, we ended up at Yukjjip. We wanted somewhere that grills the meat for you, and the fact that the prices weren't intimidating and you could easily enjoy aged meat caught my eye.

Once we got there, both the pork neck and pork belly turned out to be full of juice, and adding yeolmu bibimbap and doenjang jjigae made for a really solid meal.

## How long is the walk from Eungam Station to Yukjjip?

Yukjjip is about a 2-minute walk from Eungam Station Exit 4, so it's very accessible. It's an easy pick for a spot after work, and a good place to stop by if you feel like dinner near Bulgwangcheon stream.

We visited on a weekday evening, and since the restaurant is split across the 1st and 2nd floors, there were more seats than I expected. The interior was also cleaner and more stylish than a typical Korean BBQ place, so it was comfortable for my wife and me to eat there.

The tables were on the wider side too, so even with several side dishes and meal items on the table, it never felt cramped. Because of this, I think Yukjjip would suit anyone looking for Korean BBQ in Eunpyeong for a family outing or a couple's dinner spot.

Best of all, the staff grill the meat for you, so we didn't have to keep flipping it ourselves at the pan. That's a pretty big plus if you want to keep talking while you eat.

## Two servings of pork neck and one of pork belly for two people

Instead of a mixed platter, we picked only the cuts we wanted: two servings of pork neck and one serving of pork belly.

Yukjjip is apparently an officially certified Jirisan Baro Hanwoo pork seller, so I had expectations for the meat itself. Hearing that it goes through an aging process, I was curious how it would taste — and just the thickness of the meat on the pan was already satisfying.

They grilled the pork neck first, and since it wasn't cut too small, cooked in large pieces, the juices stayed well inside. The outside browned nicely while the inside stayed moist, which was clearly different from the dry pork neck you sometimes get.

The first bite, dipped lightly in just salt, immediately had a savory richness. That's when I understood why pork neck is this place's signature.

I'd come looking for Korean BBQ in Eunpyeong, but even the pork neck exceeded expectations, so I was satisfied from the very start.

## Yukjjip's pork belly with green onion kimchi

Once we'd eaten a good amount of the pork neck, the staff moved on to grilling the pork belly.

The browned exterior and the tender texture inside both came through well, and rather than just tasting greasy, it had a deep, savory richness.

It was good just dipped in salt, but I especially liked pairing it with green onion kimchi. The tangy, sharp side dish cut through the richness, and I kept reaching for more.

The seasoned bean sprouts and wild garlic leaves also went well with the meat, and you can ask for wasabi separately, which we tried alongside it. That slightly sharp kick made the pork belly's flavor feel even cleaner. Having the staff grill it also meant we could eat it right at its best. Among Korean BBQ spots in Eunpyeong, this is a great fit if you want to hand off the grilling and just relax and eat.

## Finishing with yeolmu bibimbap and doenjang jjigae

Since it felt like a waste to stop at just meat, we also ordered yeolmu bibimbap and doenjang jjigae as meal items.

![Yeolmu bibimbap ordered as a meal item](https://img.superchart.com/images/yukjjeup-eungam-pork-belly-dinner/yukjjeup-eungam-pork-belly-dinner-19-10t01-900.webp)

The yeolmu bibimbap had the tangy radish greens mixed well with the rice, and it felt like it refreshed the palate nicely after all that meat. It especially hit the spot right after such a rich meal.

The doenjang jjigae was savory without being too salty, so it went well with rice. It had a decent amount of ingredients inside, making it a filling meal item, and it also paired well with a leftover piece of pork neck or belly.

![Doenjang jjigae with plenty of ingredients](https://img.superchart.com/images/yukjjeup-eungam-pork-belly-dinner/yukjjeup-eungam-pork-belly-dinner-21-q1nbv-900.webp)

At most Korean BBQ restaurants, it's usually just the meat you remember, but here even the meal items were satisfying, which made for a great finish. Between the two of us, two servings of pork neck, one of pork belly, plus yeolmu bibimbap and doenjang jjigae, the portion was plenty — without feeling like we'd overeaten. If you're looking for Korean BBQ in Eunpyeong and want a proper meal to go with it, I'd recommend this combination.

## Is Yukjjip worth a weeknight dinner in Eunpyeong?

Yukjjip was an easy place to visit on a weekday evening, with its location close to Eungam Station, clean atmosphere, and staff-grilling service all working in its favor.

![A table set with both meat and meal items](https://img.superchart.com/images/yukjjeup-eungam-pork-belly-dinner/yukjjeup-eungam-pork-belly-dinner-22-fj55y-900.webp)

The pork neck in particular was thick and moist, while the pork belly had a savory richness and juiciness, each with its own charm. Side dishes like green onion kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and wild garlic leaves went well with everything too. Adding yeolmu bibimbap and doenjang jjigae made the meal feel complete and satisfying. If you want to enjoy a relaxed meat dinner with your partner near Eungam Station, or you're looking for Korean BBQ in Eunpyeong with staff who grill it for you, Yukjjip is worth a visit.
