There's one thing that always feels a bit stressful when you go out for Korean BBQ these days, right? 🤭 Who's going to grill the meat!

Especially on a date, when one person has to keep grilling, it's hard to really focus on the conversation 🥹 This time, I went to Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch, a Korean BBQ spot near Kkachisan Station where you don't have to worry about that at all 💛

## Where is Gwangseonjip, and how does the grill-for-you service work?

Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch is at 149 Gomdallae-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on the 1st floor of Somang Building. It's about a 3-minute walk from Kkachisan Station Exit 2, so it's easy to get to 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ If you're looking for a BBQ place around Hwagok-dong, this is a pretty good spot to try 😊

But the biggest thing about Gwangseonjip is that they grill the meat for you! 🔥🔥 It was so nice visiting as a couple like us, and I imagine it'd be just as great for families or a group work dinner where nobody has to be stuck grilling 😆

You order the meat, wait a bit, and the kitchen grills it deliciously over charcoal and brings it to your table 🥩✨ Thanks to that, we could just sit comfortably and talk the whole time while eating 💕

## Jeju black pork ogyeopsal, 17,900 won: thick and chewy

🥩 Jeju black pork ogyeopsal — The first thing we ordered was the Jeju black pork ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly)! 💰 17,900 won It was sliced thick, so it looked delicious just sitting there 🤤 And best of all, it came out already fully grilled.

The outside was browned and had a nice crisp feel 🔥 while the inside stayed juicy, with the flavor getting more savory the more you chewed 😋 Regular samgyeopsal is good too, but personally I loved the chewy texture that comes with this thicker ogyeopsal cut 💛

There was a subtle charcoal aroma too, so it was great eaten plain, and it also went well with sauces or side dishes!

> It's so relaxing here since you don't have to worry about grilling the meat.

I lost count of how many times we said this while eating together 😂😂

![Close-up of the browned edge of the grilled ogyeopsal](https://img.superchart.com/images/gachisan-gwangseonjip-ogyeopsal-kkodeulsal-date/gachisan-gwangseonjip-ogyeopsal-kkodeulsal-date-07-19yg3-900.webp)

## What does Gwangseonjip's signature kkodeulsal, 15,900 won, taste like?

🥩 Gwangseonjip's signature kkodeulsal — And out of curiosity, we also ordered kkodeulsal! 💰 15,900 won Apparently kkodeulsal (chewy pork cheek meat) is a rare cut that only comes in small amounts per pig 👀✨

Just like the name suggests, the texture was clearly different from regular samgyeopsal. It was springy and chewy, which made it really fun to eat 😆 If you love meat, I think you'd really like this kind of rare-cut menu item! Grilling it over charcoal seemed to bring out even more of that savory flavor 🔥🥩

If you like softer meat, I'd recommend the ogyeopsal, and if you like a chewy, unique texture, go for the kkodeulsal! 👍🏻 We ordered both and took turns eating, and each one had its own charm, which made it even better 💕

## Woo-samgyeop doenjang jjigae, 7,000 won: spicy and savory

🍲 The kind of spicy doenjang jjigae grandma used to make — It feels a little sad when there's no stew while eating meat, right? 😆 So we also ordered the woo-samgyeop doenjang jjigae! 💰 7,000 won

The savory juices from the beef brisket blended into the broth, so it felt richer in flavor than a regular doenjang jjigae 🤤 But it wasn't too heavy or greasy — it was spicy and savory in just the right way, perfect alongside the meat!

Eat a bite of meat, then a spoonful of doenjang jjigae... it really made me crave rice 😂🍚 Since it was a hot broth, having some in between bites of meat kept the palate feeling clean 👍🏻

## Finishing with kimchi-mari guksu, 5,900 won

🍜 Last up was kimchi-mari guksu! After all that meat, we ordered kimchi-mari guksu (cold kimchi noodle soup) as a finishing dish 💕 💰 5,900 won After meat, this kind of tangy, cool dish is just the best 😆✨

The tangy taste of the kimchi combined with the cold broth made everything feel instantly refreshing! After eating savory, meaty dishes like the ogyeopsal and kkodeulsal, finishing with kimchi-mari guksu was such a great combo 🤤 Even though we were pretty full from everything else, the noodles still went down easily 😂

## Verdict after a dinner for two at Gwangseonjip

This time we visited as a couple and ate through all of this!

- 🥩 Jeju black pork ogyeopsal
- 🥩 Kkodeulsal
- 🍲 Woo-samgyeop doenjang jjigae
- 🍜 Kimchi-mari guksu

Overall, what I liked most was definitely that they grill the meat for you 🔥 Eating delicious meat at a BBQ restaurant matters, but constantly flipping, grilling, and checking if it's burning can really break up the flow of conversation 🥹

At Gwangseonjip, the meat comes already grilled, so we could just relax and eat, which made me think it'd be great for a date or a family meal 😊💕 Especially for group dinners or gatherings with several people, it's nice that no single person has to be stuck grilling!

And the menu wasn't just the usual samgyeopsal or mokssal — having options like Jeju ogyeopsal and kkodeulsal made choosing more fun too 🥩✨ I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a BBQ restaurant near Kkachisan Station, families looking for a place to eat in Hwagok-dong, or anyone who'd rather eat comfortably than be busy grilling the whole time 😊

It was great for a date with just the two of us 💕 and it also seemed like a good fit for a family meal or a gathering with several people! Next time I'd love to try some of the other side dishes too 😋

If you're near Kkachisan Station looking for Jeju ogyeopsal or a place known for the rare kkodeulsal cut, this seems worth a visit 🥩🔥 Another day, another delicious meal, happiness fully recharged 💛✨ Ate well and headed home 😆🙌🏻
