I'd tried the Helsinki Latte before at Mini Male Coffee Roasters' Yeoksam branch and it really suited my taste. I thought about trying something different this time, but instead I headed straight to Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch. I was curious how the coffee would taste at the main branch of the same brand, and since I was looking for somewhere in Yangjae to grab a coffee after a meal, I naturally ended up stopping by.

Since I already had a favorite menu item in mind, I didn't spend much time deciding this time. Among the coffee options at this Yangjae café, I again picked Mini Male's signature Helsinki Latte, and since I wanted something sweet alongside it, I also ordered the Original Levain Cookie. One coffee, one cookie — exactly the combination I like.

## Why I went from Yeoksam all the way to the Yangjae main branch

I never expected that after visiting the Yeoksam branch, I'd end up at Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch too, but it was mostly because the Helsinki Latte suited my taste better than expected. It wasn't a one-and-done drink — it was the kind of latte that made me want to order it again the next time I saw Mini Male. This time I just changed the branch and ordered the same thing.

There's no shortage of places to get coffee in Yangjae, from independent cafés to franchises, but having already tried a signature menu made choosing easier this time. I'm usually the type to stand in front of the menu board for a long time at a new café, but this time I'd basically already decided on the Helsinki Latte and Levain Cookie before I even walked in.

## How does the signature Helsinki Latte taste?

Once again, the first thing I ordered was the Helsinki Latte. It's known as Mini Male's signature drink, so it's worth a look on a first visit, but since I'd already tried it at the Yeoksam branch, I ordered it this time already knowing what to expect. There's fun in trying something new, but there's also something quietly enjoyable about revisiting a drink you loved at a different branch.

The main reason I came back for the Helsinki Latte was that the coffee's bitterness didn't jump out too strongly, while the smooth latte flavor really came through. It was different from the type that's so milk-forward it ends up flat, and even alongside a sweet dessert, the coffee's presence still held its own. If you're someone who reaches for lattes more often than a strong Americano, this one's worth keeping an eye on.

## The Original Levain Cookie I paired with it

A drink alone felt a little lacking, so I again went with the Original Levain Cookie. Because of the thick, chunky shape typical of levain cookies, it felt like a proper dessert order even with just one — unlike the usual thin, flat cookies. You could see the chocolate chips on the outside too, so it was an easy add-on alongside the Helsinki Latte.

Breaking it apart, the chocolate chunks came through clearly between bites, with a pretty distinct sweetness. It suited me better as a cookie to enjoy alongside coffee after a meal rather than as a dessert eaten on an empty stomach. It's not small either, so I ate it slowly in small bites while sipping my coffee, rather than finishing it all at once.

## Trying the Helsinki Latte and Levain Cookie together

I liked the combination more eating them together than separately. The Original Levain Cookie has a clearly sweet chocolate flavor, and drinking the Helsinki Latte in between felt like it smoothed things out in my mouth. You don't have to order something new every single time you get coffee in Yangjae. If there's already a menu item that suited your taste, it's just as good to return to it, and for me at Mini Male, the Helsinki Latte became that menu item. Especially if you're planning to pair it with a sweet cookie, picking a latte as your Yangjae café coffee order worked out well.

## Two things I'd order again at the Yangjae main branch

Having ordered the same menu at both the Yeoksam branch and now the Yangjae main branch, I feel like I've pretty much settled on what I'll order whenever I come to Mini Male. Coffee: the signature Helsinki Latte. Dessert: the Original Levain Cookie. At least for my taste, that combination never fails. Especially after a meal, when too much dessert feels like a lot but a little sweetness sounds good, it hit the spot.
