I heard that India The Durbar, a beloved spot in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, had just opened a new branch in Daechi-dong, so I went with a friend. I'd heard for a while that India The Durbar was delicious, but the Sillim-dong branch was too far for me, so I'd given up on going. Now that they've opened in Gangnam too, it feels like a lot more people get the chance to try it :) The interior had that authentic Indian and Nepali feel and didn't seem newly opened at all — very comfortable. And since they run with no break time, it's also easy to stop by whenever you want. You go down a staircase to enter. It's about 600m from Samseong Station Exit 4, under 10 minutes on foot, so there was no issue getting there by public transit. ## Parking at India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch India The Durbar offers 1 hour of free parking at a nearby public lot — if your food total comes to ₩45,000 or more, you get 1 hour free at the Yeongdong-daero 85-gil public parking lot. It was packed with all kinds of vegetables, and the mango sauce was sweet. Samosa is something I always order at Indian restaurants, but the flavor varies quite a bit from place to place. It wasn't just big in size — it was packed full of filling too, no skimping on ingredients, and the seasoning was spot on. The flavor was nutty and clean, genuinely delicious. A lot of samosas have this odd, overpowering spice flavor, but this one really suited the Korean palate. Great taste and great value — it was my absolute favorite. In the past you had to order a whole one to try it, but nowadays a lot of places let you order half. It had a beautifully applied color coating. It came cut into 4 pieces, which made it easy to eat. The curry was really thick, haha. Maybe because it was packed with ingredients, it felt like it lost more moisture the longer it sat. It was a healthy curry, but personally I prefer a softer curry. There are lots of curry types, so you can pick based on your taste. There was a lot of it, so we ended up leaving some, haha. We ordered it to eat with the curry. Looking closer, it seemed like garlic powder was sprinkled on it. Usually you see visible chunks of garlic, right? Not the case here. It wasn't the soft, chewy-crispy naan I like — it was more of a crispy, crunchy naan. This wasn't the cheese naan I knew, haha. Recipes can vary between Indian restaurants and chefs. I was expecting a nutty, clean cheese naan with cheese stuffed inside like a pizza, but instead it had what looked like honey or sugar spread thickly and moistly on top. It was too sweet for me to eat :) If you're expecting the nutty, clean flavor of cheese naan, I wouldn't recommend this one, but if you like sweet flavors, I'd say go for it. Is this price for real? We ordered so much, and it still only came to ₩50,000. India The Durbar, the Indian food spot near Samseong Station, was the ultimate in value :) We ate until we were full, then went for a walk along a nearby path before heading home. ## Final verdict — also great for solo dining in Daechi-dong This was a review of my visit to India The Durbar, a popular spot in Sillim-dong that just opened near Samseong Station. I really loved that they run with no break time, so you can visit anytime. India The Durbar seems destined to become a favorite among Daechi-dong locals too, and I'd recommend it as a solo dining spot in Daechi-dong. The prices are so kind that you can try several Indian dishes even on your own — a big advantage. And with the great value, it was also perfect for two of us to order a generous spread and taste everything.
