Haven't had the headspace to blog lately ㅠ_ㅠ Work's been busy and things have been tough in general. But I finally got some breathing room and met up with a friend couple on a Friday night!!

## How close is Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo to Yeongdeungpo Station?

Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo is an indoor pojangmacha (street-tent-style bar) on the 2nd floor at 11 Yeongdeungpo-ro 50-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Both group visits and reservations are possible.

Book ahead through Naver reservations and come once it's confirmed!

As you can tell from the address, it's really close to Yeongdeungpo Station. I don't have many reasons to come to Yeongdeungpo personally, so the lively, bustling atmosphere felt like a nice change haha. Of course... after a while it also gets chaotic enough that you kind of want to go home after five minutes ^^

Still, these are friends I was genuinely happy to see, so off we went to Yeokjeon for a drink~ I'd made a Naver reservation ahead of time — just a heads up, reservations are only accepted until 6:30pm!!

I used to not think much about the importance of reservations, but now time feels precious... and I hate wasting a trip waiting around even more. So these days I book ahead whenever I can lol

## Friday night atmosphere at Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo

The moment you walk in, it's a genuine pojangmacha atmosphere haha. The music was upbeat too, perfect for enjoying a Friday night. Sure enough, tables filled up fast that Friday — group bookings, couples on dates, all of it~

We all pored over the menu together~ Since everyone's into Korean food, there were so many tempting options it took us forever to decide. And since these friends are serious about eating lol, I just handed the decision-making power over to the one who eats the most ^^

The signature dishes here are the gopchang (beef tripe) hot pots, and since everyone happened to love gopchang, that was actually one of the reasons we picked this place lol

## How does the gopmani gogi jeongol taste at medium spice?

Today's pick was Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo's gopmani gogi jeongol ❤️ True to its name, this hot pot is packed with tripe and meat, plus plenty of the vegetables I love. Napa cabbage, bean sprouts, and perilla leaves pair really well with the tripe and everything tasted fresh!

Even at medium spice, it was surprisingly hot and sharp. Boiled and bubbling, it's exactly the kind of hot pot that makes you think of soju,,, automatically >_< Of course, I just had one beer haha.

On a Friday with people I like, drinks were pretty much inevitable. Everyone ordered beer or soju according to their own taste. My first drink in a long while..!!!!

The broth gets tastier the longer it simmers. If it starts tasting a bit salty, just add a splash of water right away ^_^

A friend brought a gift, so we unboxed it too. Meanwhile the gopchang hot pot kept bubbling away happily in its wooden bowl haha. Isn't the wrapping paper so cute and pretty!!!!

After digging through all the veggies, meat, and tripe, we added ramen sari (instant noodle add-in) and it basically became a whole new dish ^_^

## Butter garlic fries and yukhoe to follow the hot pot

Next up, a friend's pick: butter garlic fries~ Just the name alone sounds delicious. The sauce was so good, and isn't the little ketchup dish super cute lol

After thoroughly demolishing the spicy gopchang hot pot with ramen sari, moving on to a rich, indulgent side dish next,,, you really can't go wrong ㅋ

We also had the delicious yukhoe (beef tartare). It came with a sweet sauce, which actually worked great as a drinking snack! The portion was surprisingly generous and it was fresh too, which I loved.

It made me even happier that my friends enjoyed the food so much. Yeongdeungpo has so many bars like this, but genuinely good ones are actually kind of rare, right? This place doubles as both a great meal spot and a drinking spot lol

We even properly kept going into a second round~ Honestly it felt like the drinks were more of a side thing and we were really just there to stuff ourselves. The four of us ate until we were completely full, all on delicious food.

## Is Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo good for group and company dinners?

Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo is great for group gatherings and perfect for company dinners too! The seating is spacious enough that you're not bothered by other tables haha. No problem seating a larger group~~ And since they show baseball broadcasts, apparently a lot of baseball fans come by too~
