An old-school bunsik (Korean street food) restaurant in Yongsan, Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch. Popular for both takeout and eat-in. Wanted to try it myself, so I went!

As soon as I walked in, there were plenty of people eating in and plenty ordering takeout. Fast turnover, lively vibe. (Made me think the ingredients must be fresh 👍) Tables were neatly kept, utensils were clean, and the staff were quick and friendly.

I'm spice-shy, so I went with the mild tteokbokki. It was mild enough that even a spice-shy eater could easily finish it. A flavor you want to dip everything in!!!

### The five kinds of fritters

The mixed fritters were kimmari (seaweed noodle roll), squid, sweet potato, vegetable, and meat mandu fritters. Five pieces total, served halved, so easy to share between two people. The fritters themselves were tasty — fried just right! And they went great with the tteokbokki sauce.

### Mini gimbap (small seaweed rice rolls)

The mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls) come as 4 rolls, halved, so you get 8 pieces total. They're small, but packed with seasoned vegetables inside, so it felt more filling than expected.

I love fritters so much that I mixed fried batter crumbs into the tteokbokki sauce and put it on the gimbap haha

### Handmade sundae with light liver, and the squiggly fish cake

Since the sundae (blood sausage) is handmade, I wanted to mainly enjoy the sundae itself today, so I specifically asked for just a little liver among the organ meats. I loved that I couldn't taste any pepper. Chewy yet soft.

The squiggly odeng (fish cake) was just as satisfying as the sundae. The broth had minimal pepper seasoning, so it stayed clear and refreshing, and the fish cake itself was soft with good chew. (There's also fried tofu and chewy mul-tteok rice cake in there.) A clean, not-too-intense broth!!! A genuinely great fish cake spot 👍 Pairs perfectly with the tteokbokki!!
