It's been a while since I found a restaurant in Daeyeon-dong that felt near-perfect from price to food quality alike. Eating-out prices have climbed so much lately that even a single bowl of udon often costs well over 10,000 won, and a decent eel rice bowl usually comes with a slightly intimidating price tag. But at Misikga-ui Udon, the prices already looked better than expected the moment I opened the menu, and once the food arrived, I was surprised all over again by the portions and presentation. If you're looking for a solo dining spot in Daeyeon-dong, want a proper bowl of udon, or love eel rice bowls, this is a Daeyeon-dong restaurant worth remembering.

## Where is Misikga-ui Udon? Right outside Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station

Misikga-ui Udon is close enough that you practically run into it the moment you step out of Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station. Getting there via Busan Metro Line 2's Daeyeon Station was very convenient, and even first-time visitors should have little trouble finding it. From outside, a large sign reading Misikga-ui Udon catches your eye, and the Japanese-style exterior makes it easy to spot. Daeyeon-dong — including the area toward Kyungsung University and Pukyong National University — is packed with restaurants, so just being right by the station exit is a big advantage.

## Curtained tables and solo-dining seats at Misikga-ui Udon

At Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, most seats are separated by partitions and curtains, so you can use them almost like small private rooms, and there are also seats set aside specifically for solo diners. Once inside, the place turned out to be bigger than I expected from the exterior. What I liked most was that, unlike a typical udon shop where all the tables are wide open, this layout let you dine without worrying much about the next table. Even in a group, you barely notice the people around you, and dining alone doesn't feel awkward either. It seemed like a perfectly comfortable place to grab udon or tonkatsu on your own.

## Menu and prices: eel rice bowl, tonkatsu and cold buckwheat soba

Ordering was done conveniently via a tablet at the table. The menu was more varied than expected — this isn't just an udon shop, since you can also choose from eel rice bowls, tonkatsu, memil (buckwheat noodles), soba, salmon dishes, and set meals. The signature unagi eel rice bowl is 24,000 won, with yakiniku set at 18,000 won, salmon bukkake udon at 15,500 won, and tempura bukkake udon at 15,000 won, among others. There were also plenty of other options like cold memil tonkatsu, perilla oil soba katsu, tonkatsu set, sake-don, salmon sashimi, and pan-memil, plus sides like tonkatsu, shrimp tempura, or potato croquettes.

We ordered cold bukkake udon and the eel rice bowl. Once both dishes were on the table, the spread looked far more substantial than I'd imagined. The bukkake udon came in a large bowl with plump noodles topped generously with chopped green onion and crispy bits, meant to be eaten after pouring on the sauce served separately. The eel rice bowl was even more overwhelming — glossy, thickly cut eel piled over a bed of rice lined with yellow egg strips, served with side dishes and soup for a hearty complete meal.

## How does the 8,500 won cold bukkake udon taste?

I tried the bukkake udon first. With this dish, you pour on as much of the separately served sauce as you like and mix it in — a signature menu item worth trying at least once if it's your first visit to Misikga-ui Udon. After pouring the sauce and tossing the noodles evenly, the first bite showed just how springy the noodles were. These weren't just thick udon noodles — they had a real elastic bounce when chewed, and eating them cold made that chewiness even more pronounced. The green onion and crispy topping added texture so it never felt one-note, and the sauce wasn't so strong that it drowned out the noodle flavor. But what really surprised me was the price. It's not easy these days to get a proper meal for 8,500 won, so udon with this kind of noodle quality and composition at that price felt like a serious bargain. I've been to plenty of udon places, but this may be the first time I've seen bukkake udon this good for 8,500 won.

## How much eel comes on the 24,000 won unagi rice bowl?

The eel rice bowl surprised me with its portion size the moment it arrived. It costs 24,000 won, but this wasn't just a few slices of eel scattered over rice — thick-cut pieces of eel were piled on so generously they nearly covered the entire bowl of rice. Honestly, I think this might be the first time I've seen an eel rice bowl at this price point pile on eel this generously. The surface of the eel was coated in glossy sauce, looking appetizing from the start, and the first bite revealed soft flesh with a well-absorbed grilled aroma and sweet-savory sauce flavor. The eel alone was delicious, but scooping up a big bite together with the rice, egg strips, and toppings underneath was the real way to enjoy it. The rice soaked up the salty-sweet flavor of the eel, and the egg strips softly tied everything together, making each mouthful feel quite rich.

> Amazed by the 8,500 won udon, then surprised all over again by the 24,000 won eel rice bowl — quite a meal

## Is Misikga-ui Udon in Daeyeon-dong worth a return visit?

Among the Daeyeon-dong restaurants I've visited recently, Misikga-ui Udon stood out for how satisfying it was in both price and food quality together. What surprised me most was the bukkake udon. Even at 8,500 won, the noodles were properly springy and chewy — this wasn't just good for the price, the udon itself was simply delicious. On top of that, the 24,000 won eel rice bowl came piled with so much eel that the rice was barely visible, making it a strong value for the price. The menu is also varied, with tonkatsu, memil, soba, salmon, and rice bowl options, so you could come back multiple times and try something different each visit. The accessibility right outside Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station is a plus, the interior is spacious, and most seats are curtained off, making it comfortable to dine with a group. There are also solo dining seats, so it's easy to recommend for anyone looking for a place to eat alone. These days it's not easy to find properly made udon for under 10,000 won, so between the affordable prices and the generous eel rice bowl, this felt, for once, like finding a Daeyeon-dong restaurant I'd want to revisit without a second thought.
