I was looking for somewhere to have lunch in Seomyeon that day, craving pasta, and ended up visiting Panna Seomyeon Main Branch (판나 서면본점). There are so many Western restaurants around Jeonpo and Seomyeon that choosing one is never easy, but Panna caught my eye because its menu goes beyond pasta to include steak, pizza, and rice bowls. Rather than being just another straightforward Western restaurant, it also sells slightly different dishes such as its beef brisket rice bowl, so it looked ideal for two people wanting to order different things. For anyone looking for Seomyeon pasta without heading too far out of the central area, the location was perfectly convenient.

Once inside, the orange accents visible from outside continue throughout the space. When the food arrived, the two dishes looked completely different, which was fun in itself. The vongole oil pasta was piled high on a wide plate, with a generous scattering of clams around it, so it unmistakably looked like vongole from the start. Vegetables and cheese sat on top, and oil pooled moistly at the bottom of the plate, so it did not look dry. The key was adding a little wasabi to each bite. If you keep eating the beef brisket on its own, its characteristic richness can build up, but the sharp kick of wasabi cuts through it and makes every bite go down much more cleanly. There were also plenty of toppings such as sesame seeds and scallions, adding a nutty aroma with every chew. If one plate of pasta feels a little lacking, sharing the rice bowl alongside it is a good option.

## A good price balance in central Seomyeon

I could understand why there was a wait even after 2 p.m. on Sunday, and I left with the impression of a Seomyeon pasta restaurant where the food and prices are better balanced than an expensive atmosphere alone. Being able to have a proper meal in the low-to-mid ₩10,000 range these days is reason enough to return.
