## In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Adelis commercial building in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. Bueokgan has its own parking lot near the coastal walking trail that leads to Dongbaekseom, so the weekend visit was easy, and the meal was suran ganjajang (black bean noodles with a poached egg), usamgyeop beef jjamppong (spicy seafood-style noodle soup with thin-sliced beef belly) and black vinegar tenderloin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). With Marine City and the Haeundae sea in view from the window, it suits family get-togethers and group dinners.

## Inside Bueokgan: window seats with a Marine City ocean view

Walking through the long entrance corridor and opening the door at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, you're greeted with the classic red-toned, dimly lit interior typical of Chinese restaurants. The dark, calm lighting gave it a quiet, comfortable atmosphere, and the staff kindly showed us to our seats.

## What is on the menu at Bueokgan Chinese?

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an authentic Chinese restaurant that stays rooted in tradition while adapting to modern tastes. From basics like jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles) to mapo tofu, shiitake mushroom dishes, ganpunggi (crispy fried chicken), yurinki (crispy chicken in tangy sauce), and cream shrimp, the menu is varied enough to keep trying something new on repeat visits.

## Suran ganjajang: black bean noodles with a poached egg

![Glossy ganjajang sauce with large chunks of meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city-18-qzsiw-966.webp)

![Mixed suran ganjajang noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city-19-2cfhi-966.webp)

This is the suran ganjajang (poached egg black bean noodles), often mentioned as the restaurant's signature dish. The jjajang sauce is thick and glossy, as if the chunjang (black bean paste) had been stir-fried for a long time, and generously sized chunks of meat sit on top, giving every bite a satisfying chew.

## Usamgyeop beef jjamppong: how is the broth?

This is the uamgyeop beef jjamppong (spicy noodle soup with thinly sliced beef brisket). It's loaded with thinly sliced beef brisket, so generous that meat came up with every spoonful of broth. What really stood out was the broth itself — deep and rich, as if the smoky wok-hei flavor and seafood-beef stock had been simmered for a long time, making it hard to put the spoon down.

![Plate of black vinegar tenderloin tangsuyuk](https://img.superchart.com/images/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city-21-o5rvh-966.webp)

![Cross-section of thickly cut, fried tenderloin tangsuyuk](https://img.superchart.com/images/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city/dongbaekseom-walk-chinese-marine-city-22-1lc6j-966.webp)

## How does the black vinegar tenderloin tangsuyuk taste?

The sauce had the deep, heavy tartness distinctive of black vinegar with added sweetness, giving it a savory depth without being too sharp. It leaned more toward heavy and sweet than sour, so even those who find tangy sauces overwhelming should find this comfortable to enjoy.

The tenderloin was cut thick and fried, giving each piece real presence, and the batter kept its just-fried crispiness even after some time had passed, without going soggy. With thick meat, crispy batter, and a rich, sweet black vinegar sauce all working together, this tangsuyuk was very satisfying.

If you want to enjoy an authentic Chinese meal while taking in the Marine City and Haeundae sea view, I recommend Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch as a great stop to pair with a walk along the Dongbaekseom restaurant course. With private rooms and group seating, it's also a fine Marine City restaurant for family gatherings or a small work dinner :)
