## In short

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a made-to-order Chinese restaurant on Seooreung-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, specialising in jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). A couple booked through Naver and ordered sweet rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) at 19,000 won, a large jjamjjamyeon at 16,500 won and crab fried rice at 11,000 won, and were served the new jjamppong mandu (dumplings) for free. With a self-bar of side dishes and six toppings, four drink machines and parking for more than 30 cars, Jjamppong Jijeon suits family meals and work dinners as easily as a dinner for two.

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, a Seooreung favorite, is an instant Chinese-style jjamppong specialist, and it turned out to be satisfying not just in taste but in service too. Let me walk you through it.

## Where is Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch? Parking and hours

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is located at 424 Seooreung-ro, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1F-2F, and is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00 (last order 21:30). The parking lot is spacious, fitting 30 or more cars.

The restaurant is large with a white sign that's easy to spot, so it was simple to find. We drove and used the parking lot — it was so spacious that there were plenty of spots and parking was a breeze. It seemed like a great place for a whole family to gather without any hassle.

## Inside Jjamppong Jijeon: seating and tablet ordering

The interior at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch has a comfortable, clean ivory-and-brown vibe. With table options for 2, 4, and 6 people, it seemed suitable for everything from solo meals to family dinners.

We took a 4-person table toward the back and conveniently ordered from the tablet installed at the table.

## Self-bar with 6 toppings and 4 free drink machines

What impressed me most about Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch was the attention to detail in service for customers. The staff weren't just kind — they'd set things up to make the whole visit more convenient and enjoyable.

The self-bar had extra banchan and 6 kinds of toppings so you could customize the food to your taste, plus mix coffee and hair ties on hand.

On top of that, there were four dessert-drink machines by the entrance, so we could enjoy everything from caramel macchiato-style lattes to americano, omija (schisandra berry) tea, and lemonade with our meal or as a palate cleanser afterward — really nice touch.

## What's on the menu at Jjamppong Jijeon

True to a jjamppong specialist, the menu is built around 6 jjamppong varieties, along with popular Chinese dishes like jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and jjamppong mandu (dumplings).

## What a couple ordered, and what it cost

> Crab fried rice (₩11,000)
> Jjamppong mandu (complimentary)

What we ordered was sweet rice tangsuyuk, a large jjamjjamyeon, and crab fried rice. Looking at the tangsuyuk and fried rice, the portions seemed generous overall.

We wondered if it might be too much for two people, but every dish had that smoky wok-fired flavor and umami depth, so we cleaned our plates. Let me introduce each dish.

### Jjamjjamyeon: the jjamppong half

This is the signature jjamppong at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. Like Gyodong-style jjamppong, it had a smoky, deep broth loaded with seafood and meat. Doesn't the generous garnish make the dish look so full? This was my husband's top pick.

### Jjamjjamyeon: the jjajang half

The jjajang sauce at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch wasn't too sweet and had a rich, silky flavor. It was fun that the texture differed when eaten with noodles versus with rice, and both ways were deeply savory.

### Sweet rice tangsuyuk, 19,000 won

This tangsuyuk really stood out for its clean oil. The meat inside the crispy batter was delicious with no off-smell at all. I especially loved that the sauce wasn't too sweet. The sweet potato fritters served alongside were a real treat too.

### Crab fried rice, 11,000 won

This dish had a great balance of seasoning between the fried rice and the jjajang sauce. Both were generously portioned, so we enjoyed it down to the last bite. Unlike homemade fried rice, it had that perfect fluffy texture I hadn't had in a while — a welcome surprise.

### New on the menu: jjamppong mandu, served free

We got to try the jjamppong mandu as a complimentary dish. They told us it's new on the menu. Inside the very crispy batter was a smoky, wok-fired filling — unique and moreish. It was delicious plain or dipped in any of the sauces.

## Worth a trip for smoky, fiery jjamppong in Goyang?

![Full spread of Chinese dishes photographed before eating](https://img.superchart.com/images/seooreung-jjamppong-jijon-couple-dinner/seooreung-jjamppong-jijon-couple-dinner-23-13ika-900.webp)

Looking back at the photos we took before digging in, my mouth is watering all over again. My husband's top pick was the smoky jjamppong, and mine was the crispy, sweet tangsuyuk!

Aside from the food itself, what stuck with us most was the staff's kindness, the bright atmosphere, and that spacious parking lot. It would be a great spot for a date, a work dinner, or a family meal.

Next time, I'd love to come back for the sujebi (hand-torn noodle) jjamppong and the soondubu (soft tofu) jjamppong bap.
