## In short

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is a gyukatsu (fried beef cutlet) and steak restaurant one minute on foot from Seoul Station, on basement level 1 at 98 Huam-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. On a weekend evening with no wait, the order was sirloin gyukatsu at 19,500 won, a sirloin steak set at 19,500 won and a ramune soda at 4,000 won, all grilled at the table on a brazier with butter melted on it first. The buttery gyukatsu with its crisp coating and tender centre was the highlight, and Ichigyu is an easy place for a relaxed one-plate dinner.

I love gyukatsu haha~~ I'd only ever been to Gyudo in Mapo before (it's close to my office,,,,haha), but Ichigyu has two branches — Seoul Station and Gwanghwamun — and since I had errands near Seoul Station, I decided to check out Ichigyu, which is under the same company. I'd heard so much about Ichigyu but this was my first visit! So excited

## Where is Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch and how do you get there?

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is at 98 Huam-ro, B1 B116, Jung-gu, Seoul. It's just a 1-minute walk from Seoul Station, so accessibility was great.

### What the entrance looks like from outside

![Exterior of Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch with a Japanese-style atmosphere](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-01-16b5i-966.webp)

The exterior has such a strong Japanese vibe, right?!?! Once you enter the building, since it's on the basement floor, you just take the escalator down!!

![Illustrated menu board displayed outside the restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-02-9m7ng-966.webp)

Outside the store, the menu items were shown with pictures so it was easy to see what was available. It's fun to browse and decide what to order before you even go in!

## Was there a wait on a weekend evening?

This place apparently usually has a wait! I visited on a weekend evening and there was no wait at all! It feels like the kind of place that's popular with office workers on weekdays,,

### How the Catch Table waitlist works at Ichigyu

They said this system is in place because of a lot of no-shows after reservations, which caused inconvenience to other customers, so here's how it works:

- When your turn comes up on the Catch Table waitlist, the restaurant calls the number you registered directly (the call will come from a 010 number)
- If they can't reach you, they'll assume you no longer want to wait and automatically cancel your spot, so keep this in mind!!!
- Since seating is mostly 2–4 person tables, groups of 5 or more may not all be seated together!!!

## Inside the restaurant and seats for solo diners

![Spacious interior of Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch with ample seating](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-04-1q2ru-966.webp)

![Interior seating with many 2-person tables](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-05-d9w27-966.webp)

I was surprised the space was bigger and had more seats than I expected! With so many seats, even if there's a wait, turnover should be good. With so many 2-person tables, this could also be a great spot if you're looking for a solo-dining restaurant near Seoul Station! There were actually a couple of people eating alone.

## The menu and the 4,000-won ramune soda

![Ichigyu menu board listing gyukatsu and steak](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-06-378xu-966.webp)

This is Ichigyu's menu~~~ The steak looked delicious too? And they had nostalgic ramune soda!!!!!! so I knew I had to order it. That soda I remember from Japan! Not many places sell it, so I was surprised to find it here,,hahaha

![Instructions for how to eat the dishes, posted on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-07-198u7-966.webp)

On the table there was info on how to eat it deliciously and about the receipt review event. If you leave a receipt review, they give you fried shrimp!

## What we ordered: sirloin gyukatsu and the sirloin steak set

![Soda-flavored ramune soda, ₩4,000](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-09-lrer7-966.webp)

Ramune soda is a must, hehe. It's soda flavor and costs ₩4,000!

![Table set with the brazier already lit](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-10-gax7g-966.webp)

![Refillable rice and side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-11-7x0fc-966.webp)

I ordered the basic sirloin gyukatsu for ₩19,500 and the basic sirloin steak set for ₩19,500! They light the brazier first and bring the rice! Rice refills are available too, so you can eat as much as you want~~

![Sirloin steak set without any breading](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-12-1q944-966.webp)

This is the steak — no breading, right~~?! And is that pickled cabbage among the side dishes??? It was genuinely a hidden gem, crunchy and so good. It went really well with the steak.

![Crispy-coated sirloin gyukatsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu/ichigyu-seoul-station-ramune-gyukatsu-13-hs8rc-966.webp)

And here's the gyukatsu!! You can feel the crispiness of the fried coating just looking at it, right~?!haha Everyone gets one pat of butter, and you melt it on the grill before putting the meat on : )

Ahh,,, doesn't this look so good?ㅠㅠhaha Maybe because of the butter, the flavor was seriously amazing!? Butter's richness meeting the gyukatsu,,haha Personally I liked the gyukatsu more. That crisp-outside, tender-inside thing gyukatsu does so well,,?! The crunch of the coating was so good. Since it's sirloin, it was tender and melted in my mouth ㅠ And right when it started to feel a bit rich, a sip of ramune soda, ahh haha I had such a hearty, delicious dinner : )

## Is Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch worth it?

Gyudo even has scorched-rice tea, so it feels a bit more premium, while Ichigyu is great for a comfortable, easy meal. It seems like a good place to casually enjoy gyukatsu in everyday life. The Japanese vibe is so strong that next time I want to try the Japanese-style curry too! The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious!! If you're looking for a good restaurant near Seoul Station, give Ichigyu a try!!
