## In short

Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna is an aged hanwoo Korean BBQ restaurant on Damji-ro 8beon-gil in Seo-gu, Incheon. For a 100-day anniversary dinner, the couple ordered 150g of aged hanwoo special tenderloin at 58,000 won, hanwoo yukhoe (raw beef tartare), uni (sea urchin roe) limited to one serving per person, and spicy hanwoo haejangmyeon (hangover noodles), with staff grilling every cut at the table. Low lighting and wide gaps between tables make Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna a quiet Cheongna date spot for two.

With our 100-day anniversary coming up, I was looking for somewhere quiet for dinner and ended up at Suksung Myeongjak, a Korean BBQ restaurant in Cheongna. I tend to prefer places where you can sit face to face and actually talk over a rowdy barbecue joint, so once I found out it was on Damji-ro 8beon-gil, I booked a table right away.

![Exterior of Suksung Myeongjak on Damji-ro 8beon-gil in Cheongna](https://img.superchart.com/images/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date-01-c9ab9-900.webp)

I'd heard it specialized in aged hanwoo (Korean beef), so my expectations were high, and after visiting I understood why it keeps coming up as a Cheongna date spot.

## Where is Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna, and what are the hours and parking?

Suksung Myeongjak sits on the 1st floor at 14 Damji-ro 8beon-gil, Seo-gu, Incheon. It's tucked into a back street inside Cheongna International City, but there's a spacious dedicated lot, so parking was no trouble even for a first visit.

Hours are 17:00 to 22:00 with last order at 21:00, and the restaurant is closed every Sunday.

Both Naver Reservation and phone bookings are available, and corkage is free for up to one bottle, which explains why so many couples seemed to be bringing their own wine.

Cheongna Lake Park and Canal Walk are both nearby, so it was an easy stroll hand in hand to finish off the evening after dinner.

## The order: aged hanwoo tenderloin, hanwoo yukhoe and uni

First up was the aged hanwoo special tenderloin, 150g for ₩58,000.

A staff member grilled it for us and asked upfront whether we wanted it cooked all at once or in batches, which made it easy to just relax and let them handle it. The tenderloin's signature softness combined with all that juiciness meant the savory flavor lingered the more we chewed.

Next we ordered hanwoo yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) — fresh hanwoo tossed in seasoning, a classic style with a subtle sweetness that came through more with each bite, pairing nicely with the tenderloin.

We also tried the uni (sea urchin roe), sold limited to one serving per person — it was fresh with no fishy taste, and the savory flavor filled our mouths.

### Spicy hanwoo haejangmyeon: how the original flavor tastes

For our noodle course we ordered the spicy hanwoo haejangmyeon (hangover noodle soup). You can choose between original and mala flavor, and we went with original.

![Broth and corn noodles in the haejangmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date-12-7anv3-900.webp)

The corn noodles gave it a distinctively chewy texture, and the broth had that spicy yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) feel — comforting enough to soothe the stomach even alongside all the meat.

For drinks, grapefruit ade and green tangerine ade were each ₩7,000, both refreshing alongside the meat.

## How Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna differs from other Cheongna hanwoo restaurants

What stood out most at Suksung Myeongjak was the lighting and layout. The overall low light and generous spacing between tables meant that even with other diners nearby, our conversation was never disrupted.

Unlike a typical barbecue place where you have to grill everything yourself, staff explained and grilled each dish for us, so we could relax through the whole meal, and they got the doneness just right every time without us having to worry.

From cozy two-person tables to group seating, we could comfortably find a spot depending on party size.

It also felt like a special touch that if you note an anniversary when booking on Naver Reservation, they'll prepare a cake for you.

## Why Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna works for a Cheongna anniversary date

Suksung Myeongjak felt better suited to a calm, quiet time for two than a rowdy group gathering.

For special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays, if you're looking for a quiet Cheongna date spot, this place is likely to hit the mark.

![Table setting with an anniversary date atmosphere](https://img.superchart.com/images/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date-21-ik0nk-900.webp)

![Quiet dining hall at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna](https://img.superchart.com/images/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date/sukseong-myeongjak-cheongna-tenderloin-date-22-1q5zr-900.webp)

The atmosphere made it easy to keep the conversation going without interruption, and with the tenderloin, yukhoe, uni, and haejangmyeon all on the table, the variety kept things from ever feeling repetitive, almost like enjoying a course meal.

The price range was similar to other hanwoo specialty restaurants, but with the service and atmosphere added in, it felt like it was worth it.

This visit made it clear why Suksung Myeongjak, a Cheongna Korean BBQ restaurant, keeps coming up as a Cheongna date course.

Between the Damji-ro 8beon-gil location, the ample parking, and the menu flow from aged hanwoo tenderloin to yukhoe, uni, and spicy hanwoo haejangmyeon, it all came together well.
